Haramiya Japanese BBQ Restaurant @ The Central

This is a super overdue post that I was intending to do. Hehe Somehow I forgot about it till I stumbled across the pictures while tidying up my folders.

Initially, I planned to give Mr Love a treat at the restaurant @ Taipei 101 since the trip coincides with his birthday. And how nice the view will be dining at the 85th level. But the ever "romantic" hubby shoot down the idea straight away saying that it is a waste on monies to dine there since it's gonna be expensive.

The idea was scrapped and I left it to him to decide where he wanna go for his birthday treat.

He chose Haramiya where we went lunch for mother's day celebration for his mum.

Someone mentioned that they offer buffet dinner for the BBQ and we decided to check it out. I was impressed with their seafood soup when we went there previously.

Anyways we went down on Sat a week after his birthday at 5pm since I don't like to be caught in the dinner queue. True enough there was no queue and we got a table quickly.

But the service was, bad. Although there was not much customers in the restaurant no one bother to entertain us after sitting us down though I tried to call for their attention.

I finally caught 1 of the waiter's attention and when he heard we are here for the buffet, he gave us a LOOK. Am not sure why but they seems not to welcome buffet guests? Were shifted to another table and they literally threw down a order form to let us place the orders. It is then we were told that there is a time limit to the buffet-2hours.

I was comtemplating to walk out but decided to hold my temper since it is Mr love's birthday celebration. He very much wanted to eat BBQ for some reasons and we decided to stay put. So, we tick our choices on the order form and call for the waiter again. Since we only have 2 hours (I totally hate time limit for buffet) we ordered quite a lot for the first round so as not to waste time waiting.

He gave us a totally dispised look while telling us that we can only order 10items per round each time. NO ONE BOTHER TO TELL US WHEN YOU PASSED THE ORDER FORM TO US OK? I felt like shouting in his face, but the order form did have a small fine print on it which we both missed out since we are focusing on what food to order. They let it slide this time and so do we.

The food came quite fast after placing the order and indeed we ordered quite alot. But since it takes time to bbq to meat and there is a time limit of 2hrs, we need to eliminate the waiting time of ordering and waiting for it to be served right?

I must admit that the food here are pretty good. This is a god sent place for meat lovers like us but at the end of the meal, I feel like I need to go vegetarian for the next 1 week. Hehe.

I must stressed again that the service here is literally non existence. The waiters and waitress are no where in sight when you need one. I had to practically grab hold of one to stop them and the restuarant was barely occuiped while we were there.

Since the meat need time to cook, we ordered some of the ready cooked items to fill our stomaches while waiting. The hotplate sliced beef is not a bad choice if you are not too turn off by eating too much beef since there are more BBQ  beef later. Hehe

Another must try is the seafood pancake. We fell in love with it during the last visit and was happy to see it on the buffet menu. Hehe

I was super happy to find the seafood soup offered on the buffet list too though the portion is a smaller one but you can always order another one. The seafood gave the soup a sweet taste and I love it. Nearly drank all by myself leaving only the seafood for Mr Love.

I think we nearly ordered 1 of each that was offered ont he menu for buffet hehe but I felt stressful throughout the meal since there was a time limit to it. Forgot what was the penalty but it was not the most comfortable dining experience I had though the food was good.

Total bill was SGD100++ with the amount of meat we ate, it was pretty worth the monies if the time limit was not there or at least longer since you need some time to cook the meat.

But I dun think I will be going back for the buffet again with the service and time limit in place. The bibimbap set meal is worth a try though with most costing less than SGD10 and the portion is pretty big.
