Suddenly, I missed the daily calls..

Those close to me will noe that mummy will call me everyday to chat de..She used to call me during lunch bak when I was with my old co as she noes I take short lunches and will be bak at my seat in 20min so that leaves us 40 mins to chat..

When I changed to this current job, lunch hr was not fixed and I always used up the 1 hr, plus it is not beri convenient to chat in my current seating arrangement, so she tried changing to 5.30 when I am due to off work..

But then she gradually realised that I worked factory worker's hrs...meaning usually I get off work at 7pm..so she gave up calling at 5.30..hehehe

Den she changed to calling at 9pm..hehehe Finally a time slot that is quite suitable...she would update me with family gossips, work woes (yesh she have a lot though she got no colleagues heheh)...problems at hm etc..

So it sort of became a habit of mine to wait for her call or call her sometimes when I am on my way hm on the train or bus or while lazing at hm..

This week, she is away in Vietnam on a tour with her sis...I actually forgot and wanted to call her yest when I am on my way hm on the cab..heheh its abit weird not to tok to her while I make the long journey hm...

I can onli msg her while she is away and she will give me 1 msg everyday for an update on the tour...

Suddenly, I miseed the daily calls we had...I wondered whether my mum missed calling me or nt...heheheh

Was suffering from a sore throat on Sun...Tried taking lozenges to make it go away, but it got worst..

Woke up on middle of the night on mon feeling feverish n took 2 panadols hoping it will go away, but it didnt..so I surrendered and went to the doc in the morning..38.5 degrees is how high I am burning..Its a wonder I didnt get burned to death...

For the 1st time in mths, I took the flu med..I seldom wanna take flu med for the fact tat I will get knock out for a long period of time, but this time, I realli cannot stand it..And so, took flu med, panadols and the extra strong lozenges that the doc prescribed and went to bed..

How effective it was..I slp frm 11 to 3..woke up brief enuff to take something as stomach was calling out loud in protest and fell bed to slp at 3.30 to 7pm when hubs came bak frm work..even then, I couldnt open my eyes and fell bak slumber land when he went for a jog n da bao dinner for me...

I manage to stay awake for 2 hrs after dinner to go take a bath n watch TV but still at 9.30pm my eyes felt heavy again and I went bak to slp till 10am this morning to go haf breakie with Mr Love..

Came back at 1pm and went to slp till 3.30pm juz nw...The wonder that the little pill can do on me...Knocked me out for a prolonged period...But nevertheless, I felt much better now...Its back to work tmr and I hope the war zone will be kinder on me..I realli have no energy to deal with those plp given the fact tat I am half awake now..God, please be kind on me and make those plp not see me tmr...hehehe

Steamboat on a rainy day

Its been raining since dunno when and when I actually craved to have something hot on this super cold day...

Called mummy and she said she is alone as the 2 bros are out with their dates, so I decided to go for dinner with her..We decided to drop by our fav fish head steamboat in Jln Sultan..

Reached at 5.30pm but saw the queue was longer than usual..Guess muz becuz of the weather..Didnt managed to get a slot anywhere near and we decided not to waste time but to park further up at the housing estates...

The queue was indeed longer today as we waited for like 20mins before the steamboat is ready...Usually 10mins was all it takes...The 3 of us sat there and chatted abit while waiting for food to be served...And we are all super hungry partly due to the weather and partly becuz Mr Love and I onli took brunch today...heheh

It was super shiok to haf steamboat on a rainy day and I did not perspire at all..Which is a huge accomplishment for me..whahah..As we were too full after dinner, we then went to OG to shop ard...hehe..Also to apply for the OG card...heheh End up, we brought enuff to apply for 2 cards...whahhaha...

It was raining 1 evening as we made our way to dinner, so we went upstairs to grab an umbrella..

While opening our gate, Mr Love asked me whether to grab 1 or 2 umbrellas..

So I told him, if you wan be close to me, u take 1, if u wan be further from me, u take 2 lo..

He went in and came out with  1 small umbrella lo and he told me.."I wanna be closer to u, so I take a smaller 1.."

Ooppsss..I did it again

Due to the hot weather recently, I was tore between to keep my shoulder length hair or cut it short again...I wanted to keep long to tie it up and yet I find short hair easily to maintain..

After consulting with Mr Love, I decided to go short again..whahah I think he realli prefers me in short hair...and I dunno why..

Actually wanted to go with bestie to a home salon that her fwen recommend but becuz I cannot make it on the stated date and also I have a few hrs to spare during last sat, I decided to go bak to Clementi for my hair cut..

Wanted to go bak to the previous salon but when I went ard walking in Clementi, I found another 1 and went there to try...Results are still quite acceptable except that the long hrs of sittin there...I cannot imagine if my hair were of waist length, I think I need sit there for 6hrs le..whahaha

A rare scene...

On 1 sunny sunday morning, Mr Love & I decided to make our way down to Hong Lim food center to eat our fav Bak Kut Teh...We will have cravings for it once in a while ever since his Ah gong brought us there years ago...

It was super crowded when we reached there and we were forced to sit at 1 corner which is not good for me as I sweat buckets while eating hot food..

Anyways, while eating, something caught my eye...3 tables away from us, sits a family of 3..Parents and a son who seems to be in his 30s..

Mum looks quite sickly and have problems eating food on her own...I've seen hubs feeding wife, daughter feeding mum, maids feeding mistress, daughter in law feeding mum in law..but I neber seen a son doing the job...

This son, was slowly feeding his mum while his dad sits there njoying the food...And wat caught my attention is, whenever he wanna feeds her, he will ask the mum to open her mouth like a adult cajoling a kid..He fed her with such care that it seems he is afraid of hurting her with the spoon..And of cuz, he also make sure that the food was not too far prior to feeding her..

I was beri touched to see this scene, the son in question look so tenderly at his mum that you can see their bond..The mum, was putting her hands on the son's leg while she sits there waiting for him to feed her...

Not only the son feeds his mum, he also makes sure he did not neglect his dad, throughout the whole breakfast, he toks to his dad whenever his mum is munching her food, and that leaves him with practically no time to eat in between..

In this present Singapore, it is heart warming to see such things doesnt it? I am touched by his actions and I am sure his parents brought him up well and is proud of him...1 day, when I have kids, I wished I am able to teach them as well as this parents did...You need not be smart, be rich but you muz be compassionate and have a loving heart...

There is this song on which is sang by dunno which singer and sounds pretty awful...

Juz the other day, I went hm in a pretty foul mood due to work...Mr Love was trying his best to cheer me up..

Juz when I am lying on the bed sulking, Mr Love came up to me and started to sing "我的字典里没有放弃。。。" It cracked me up immediately and I think he wanted to cheer me up and at the same time encourage me regarding work...

Although it didnt make things better at work, but it makes me count my blessings that I married this man ;)

Thank you Hubs, although I need to admit, your singing sucks..whahahah

Fridays are "Kill myself day"

Hubs been nagging at me for the non-existent exercise regime that is in place in my life now...hehehe I have been putting off the exercises schedules due to the heavy workload..hehehe..

So he decided, we will not go dating on every fri like we used to..In place of it, we will go jogging every fri for at least 1/2 hr...

Why fri, many asked? Cuz no matter how busy I am for the week, I make it a point to leave on the dot on fri to go datin with Mr Love, this is to ensure, the 2 of us spent some quality time togther despite a busy week..Wkends are sometimes lined up with errands, families time, gatherings and thus the "me time" is not there although we will attend the events togther...

So we went for our 1st joggin sessions last nite since dunno when..heheh He wanted to practice for his IPPT and at the same time wanted me to jog..I couldnt jog non stop and gave up after the 1st round of continuous joggin...

But I dun wan to onli keep walking on the track too..So I compromised and jogged half round and walked half round..heheh..may not be an effective way but at least it is a good start...I did tat for 5 rounds b4 giving up and did my cool down exercise b4 resting..

Mr Love was pretty happie for draggin me along and hafing company although we went our separate ways on the tracks..And he told me to work towards the goal of jogging non stop for 6 rnds in time to come..I think my hubs is trying to kill me for my insurance payout..

Today, I am feeling the pain after last nite's torture..God...Why do I look forward to fridays???

Elections again...

The most talked topic during lunch recently was about the up coming Presidential Elections in 2 wks time..

I have neber voted b4 since turning 21 but this yr, I get to vote twice..whahahah

This is the most hotly contested PE in Singapore's history since 1991, with us hafin a choice of up to 4 candidates..

I was spoiled for choice, even more choice during GE..whhahha and yesh, in order to exercise my citizen's rights. I followed the news closely, beri closely..

But somehow, maybe becuz the GE had juz passed, I kinda feel that this PE is kinda of linked to the GE..The way the candidates campaigned, the way the critics viewed, even the commoners' idea were somehow still linked to the GE..

The reason that I cannot make up my mind on who to vote is, I am not able to see 1 candidate who can convince me that they are netural to the politics, they are either too pro-govt or anti-govt frm the way I see..Which are both not desirable..

My idea of our president should be a friendly old uncle/auntie, who can feel for the citizens and at the same time exercise his rights to check on the government when needed..Not a YES man or a NO man...The most ideal 1 is like our late president Mr Ong Teng Chong, whom I think is our best president so far..

Tat being said, he was once from our government party aso, but when he took the presidential seat, he did wat he is suppose to do although it didnt went as well as he wish...Still, I think he did his best...

With no suitable candidates, this time, I can only vote for the next best man, although I think plp think otherwise..hope for the next PE, we will be able to see some 1 more suitable...

Happiness....

Was at KKH today for a checkup due to prolong bleeding..Dunno whether it is due to my condition or not but my doc advised me to go 4 a check up to be on the safe side..

The women's clinic was packed to the max and the nurse told me preggies women will get the priority queue =_=''..

As I sat in the clinic waiting, I saw a couple coming out from the doc's from beaming. My guess is, they muz have been told of the pregnancy and this might be their 1st child :)

The man was so careful in guiding the wife that I think he looks like he wanna carry her and not let her walk..

It was so heart warming to see them walking slowly bak to the seat with the hubs whispering to the wife and ask her to be careful..

It somehow took away my worries for the moment and in my heart, I sincerely wish them well, haf a smooth pregnancy and of cuz welcome a healthy baby in months to come...:)

Of Aunties & Uncles

Was invited by Sepina to attend her gal's 1st bday party..Hehehe And so I went and buy a pressie for Princess Charlotte at the advice of Uncle C...

I am always in favour to buy educational toys for kids instead of juz toys..In this way, they can be entertained and learn new things at the same time..

So on Sun, before setting out to the party, I rushed to wrap the pressie and and wrote "Happie bday Princess Charlotte, Love, Uncle Yong Jie & Auntie Yongle"

Mr Love immediately told me that I wrote wrongly..It shd be "Love from Brother Yong Jie & Auntie Yongle"..

Turns out I am not the onli 1 afraid of plp addressing me as Auntie..Hehe So does Mr Love..

Impromptu meetup

Was chatting with bestie since last evenin on n off...And when both hubs are busy with their things, we 2 took the chance and arrange an impromptu lunch date..

I seldom haf a chance to go out on a weekend as it is reserved for Mr Love for we did not have the time to date during wkdays..

Its actually pretty nice to haf this little lunch date where the both of us can bitch ard abit n catch up...no doubt we juz met up the other nite whahahahaa..

In a few mths time when bestie move to central part, we might not be able to have this chance anymore, unless I'm at Mr Love's mum's hse..heheh

Still, I njoy today's date pal..Cheers and hope you feel better after letting it out :)

I am not happie but it is still bearable..

I admit I am not happie recently, felt outcasted/isolated. No doubts with the angels ard, it makes my life better, but I dunno wat I did to deserve this treatments..

Although I am unhappie, I am still hearten by the encouragements, support that the angels gave me..

Although frustrated, I still grind my teeth and go thru every day

Although I feel like giving up, I manage to convince myself otherwise.

I found a new way to go thru everyday without feeling so dejected.

Tat is to haf an goal to work towards...

I gotten a goal for myself..hehehe..Saving up for it, thus haf to work, thus have to put up with them, thus I will feel better when I hold the bag in my hand...hehehe

As we were paying for groceries in NTUC juz now, I saw Choya at the counter and told Mr Love that Nonnie told me, drinkin a glass b4 slping would ensure a good nite's slp..But its a pretty expensive drink...hehehe

He told me that he had a better and FOC method to ensure a good nite slp..Tat is to take a deep breath of his pillow which is full of his dried saliva smell..Tat would knock me out and aso ensure a good nite slp...

Happie bday Singapore!!!

Although amid the unhappiness recently over certain issues, I still love this country I called home for 27yrs...Neber did it crossed my mind that I wan to leave here..

As we celebrate our 46th National day together together today, I was reminded of how fortunate it is for me to be born n grow up here..

Contrary to Mr Lee's thinking, I did not forget how the older generations worked hard to bring Singapore to where it is today..But along the way, I think we are losing our Singapore identity, becoming too much of an international hub..

The reason I reacted so strongly against certain policies is because I think we true blue Singaporeans should be able to keep our identity instead of losing it..

No matter where in the world I travelled and when posted the question of my nationality, I would proudly replied "Singaporean"..Proud to be a Singaporean and will always be :)

Happie bday Singapore..May u grow well and strong.May Singapore become a better place to live in for me and my future generations..

Nursing a cough

The weather hasnt been good recently, alternating between hot and cold..

I am especially sensitive to this kind of weather, will catch a cold beri easily this is kind of weather...

I had trouble slping at nitez cuz of prolonged coughing and even with taking med before slping doesnt help at all..

I was suddenly reminded of this medicated sweet tat Uncle T once intro to me when I got prolonged coughin...

I was quite reluctant to try it, as I am afraid of it being bitter, but seriously it did keep my cough down...

I dunno the name of the sweet, relying on Uncle T for the supply, but since he left the co, I dunno where to get it le...

Am contemplating whether to ask Uncle T where to buy the sweet...

Meanwhile, I try to search for something to try whether it will keep my coughin controlled...

Quality time

Been workin like a factory worker running on 12hr shift recently.. Reached office at 7.15 n left at 7 someting..Mr Love is equally busy n hence didnt get a chance to eat proper dinner together..

Both of us r pretty particular on the quality time spent..but seldom we dun haf a proper dinner date in a week..this is a special wk..with us working late on 1st 3 days n i haf an appt on fri..

Last nite is the onli nite of the week we sat down for proper dinner date to tok bout the week happenings..ya,it is essential to haf this dates so tat we can bond over it..

Whoever said after marriage plp dun go on dates anymore?

Yest,someone taught me this..if u think plp are doin stupid things n u cannot stand them..put urself in their shoes n imagine urslef tat u r aso a pig..den u will be able to appreciate wat they have done n their thinking..

It sounds illogical at 1st..but as I gone thru today, i realise this might aso be a
way to make urself feel better when u face shits..it kinda help in fact whahah..

Random tot of the day

As I was slapping on my daily skin care routine and make up juz now,it suddenly strikes me how different things were 10 yrs ago..

When I was 17,I dun haf much skin care routine to speak off, for 1,I was still young wif pretty good skin..my cure to breakouts? Drink orange juice lo,it realli does help..n I do not haf extra monies to spend on skincare products..now,the main routine is the skin care step..

Different facial wash for day n night..using those with micro beads to clear the dirt at night n a soothing 1 in the morning..followed by toner which will dunno izzit open or close my pores so tat they absorb moisturizer better.. Lastly, is the moisturizer where I take most time to put on, givin my face a massage during the process..

It's like I need at least 10min for all these per process,n the lazy me actually find it essential to do n did it dilligently every mornin n night..

At 17,I put on heavier makeup..liquid foundation, 2 way cake, blusher, mascarra m different colour eye shadow to match my outfit of the day..I would spend time in front of the mirror..I actually wan to make myself to look like a woman instead of a gal.but now, it's BB cream n a thin layer of loose powder n a tinge of blusher n off I go...

1stly, is not to clog up my pores with so much make up, 2ndly,I'm lazy to apply all others except for the basic after going thru the skin care routine.. Lastly, is to portray a younger look with minimal makeup..not so mature looking..

It's like the mindset of a 17 n 27 is so different..1 wanted to look mature while the other 1 juz wanna keep her youth..mayb when I reached 37,I will be having another mindset order..life is juz so complicated..

Last nite as I lay on the bed, watching tv while falling aslp, Mr Love suddenly asked me ＂老婆，你要看A 片吗?＂ I got a shocked of my life lo..

I questioned him on how he got his hands on this kind of film n he cheekily told me it's horror movie with some violence, thus it's rated "RA" n short form will be A片lo..His colleague loan him the film n told him the rating n he decided to disturb me with it..*_*""

While going to lunch today, Cindy suddenly told me she say my family portrait and commented tat my dad was quite good looking for his age..I was puzzled as I dun remember hafin any family portrait except during my wedding..

Turns out I was rite,she mistook my 3rd uncle for my dad..whahah cuz I put as pofile pic long time ago..but the description, I put as "Family portrait with bday man.." mayb she didnt read properly..she juz saw "family portrait"

I was telling her the definition of family portrait in my hse means is w/o dad de.. The most recent 1 with him is during my weddin more than 2yrs ago..I do haf a lot of childhood photos but none with dad in it..

Sad huh?I used to mind alot..my family photos always look imcomplete w/o a dad..my family seems incomplete during trips to Msia w/o dad..it's onli with mummy onli..but dunno startin frm when,we got use to it..W/O my dad, mummy still brings us out, n we were more well behave so as nt to give her trouble as she will ground us if we were to misbehave..after all, she need to look after 3 kids..

I guess,the next time we get to take full family portrait will be during my bros wedding..

Woo hoo...

It's official!!we r going Taiwan again in later of the yr..Flights n Hotel booked and it's now down to planning itinerary..

Was actually looking at a Japan tour but the price is not as attractive as I tot it shd be..plus the dates I'm lookin at do not have any confirmed dept which haf a chance of not starting the tour..Thus decided not to take risk..dun wanna end up with nothing..

Though it's bak to Taipei again but we are both excited as we both luv Taipei,especially the food...
