March babies celebrations 2014

It's official, the 4 of us stepped into the point of no return at age of 30. 13 years had passed since we met, we seen each other through up and down, thick and thin and as usual we had our gathering to welcome everyone into the 30's club.

I thank my lucky stars everytime when I am reminded of the good friendships I got from these girls. There is no judging only words of comfort for each other.  There is no backstabing, only enormous amount of support for each other. While each of us are moving in different direction in life, we are able to connect whenever we meet. This is sisterhood for you and it's gonna be a lifetime of membership. No way I will trade them for any others who will appear in my life.

Nuff said...will let the pictures do the talking of the great night out we had the other day ;)

It 's been a long time since I had root beer float

And so, this gathering joke fell on Partner who gave out the paper bags before pressie to us. She was holding on to the pressies all the time while giving out the paper bags. Haha. End up we keep thanking her for the paper bag and asked her to bring home the real pressies and saved for next year. Haha. This thus set of another round of camwhoring with the paper bag.

Yiyi pose with 2 paper bags tat she received
We decided that we are too noisy for the restaurant and decide to go outside for more phototaking session before we call it a night. It took us nearly 45min to get all the pictures all the while laughing abit too loudly. Luckily the mall is not that packed at 10pm on a Thursday night. Nevertheless, we did attract some stares and a security guard for being too noisy. Hehe

Dear refuse a photo wiht me cuz I keep teasing her

Hello kitty madness 2014

It's here again. The hello kitty craze that Mcdees started every now and then.

Only this time it gets even better with online sales available. As expected, the website was down minutes after official launch.

I tried my luck at the launch and couldn't even load the page with the shitty Internet connection I had in office.
So I gave up and forgot about it till after work. I tried again at 9pm but with no luck in loading the page while I saw some friends on Facebook saying that they had ordered successfully. Envy envy.

The next day when I managed to load the page it stated that all has been sold out. Hence I complained to my colleague about having to eat Mcdees every monday now.

Then at 3pm, my another colleague suddenly told me that he managed to buy 1 set for his wife online and its now available again. I ponder for a while and my heart ruled over my brain. So I log in and wanted to buy a set but only the efforts went up in smoke when the bloody connection makes my purchase time out after I keyed in the OTP code.

I was too busy and lazy to try buy another time cause of the lousy connection and me buying kitties during work time.

And so, I am without the kitties now and is still struggling on whether to buy a set or not. Me and my obssession with Mcdee toys..

And we missed you so..

Having tried the 葱油饼(Onion pancake) from Jiao Xi last year, both Mr Love and I couldn't get it out of our minds.

The craving was so bad that I am willing to forgo a trip to Seoul and choose to go Taiwan again when Mr Love mentioned a window of leave he has.

So with a little advice from my colleagues, I managed to score a good deal from Scoot. Let's hope that they don't disappoint us just like what they did to my younger brother the other time. Else, this will be the 1st & last time I am flying with them. Am always a loyal Jetstar flyer to Taiwan. Hehe

We are staying in Hsinchu for 3nights with 姗姗姐 and her hubs this time round and they offered to bring us around Taiwan on 2 days. Woo...Touring Taiwan with locals, how exciting!!! So grateful to her for offering us her place and bringing us around. Taiwanese's great hospitality at their very best.  Its back to Taipei for a 4days 3nights stay and I opted for a hotel further away from town. Let's hope it turns out good since the hotels in town are sold out or have much higher price.

We will definitely take sometime out to travel to Yilan for the 葱油饼 & the Yilan Pu rou that I missed so much.

See you in May Taiwan, please bless us with good cooling weather :)

The Onion pancake that we missed so much

We are coming back in May for you all!!

New Look

Its been 2 years since I last stepped into a hair salon. Recently it seems like my hair got out of control and no matter how much conditioner I used, it could't be tame.

So I toyed with the idea of cutting my hair real short again and rebond while I am at it.

Took me a long while to finally get my ass down to a salon because my weekends are all fully packed recently. Thank god for the Easter long weekend this week.

Scheduled the appointment at 10am since I reckon it would take 4-5hrs for the stylist to cut, rebond, dye and apply treatment to my hair. 4-5 hours is an under estimation.

When we were discussing the hair style, was advised against cutting too short for fear that the rebonding would not last. In the end, left the decision to my stylist since I am not very particular of cutting away my long hair. She was pretty surprised that I wanted to cut it real short in fact. And the process started soon after.

She 1st used nearly an hour to wash then cut my hair to the recommended length. I had long, thick and wavy hair which is not the best to handle for a hairstylist. In fact, at least 15mins is required to dry my hair even with their powerful dryer. Haha

After getting the desired length, she then applied the rebonding cream and let it set into my hair. Its another round of 45min of waiting time since the chemical refused to set in. Was told that it is due to the fact that I seldom do rebonding (last done was 2 years ago) and thus my hair is not used to chemicals. Oh Well..

By the time the chemical got washed away, blow dry my hair, it's already 1pm. I was starving by then. Luckily, I was given a break to go grab a quick lunch before returning for the rest of the treatments. Lunch break was 15min already my fastest speed. Literally gobbled down the whole plate of chicken rice and look as though as I had not eaten for the past 1 week.

Fresh hair cut, not rebond yet.
Tried getting used to the bangs that the stylist had created but couldn't get used to the new look. After all, I had long fringe ever since graduating from secondary school. It's been like 14 years?

Haha. Anyways, the un-rebond hair looks so messy that I am convinced monies is well spent on the rebonding part. Cannot imagine my hair looking so untidy.

Rebonding took up 1hour and 30mins, after which another layer of setting cream is applied for 30mins to hold down the rebonded hair. Washed and dry again before the dyeing process commence.

By now, I am already sitting in the salon for 6hours - the initial time she estimate how long the whole process would take. Got bored reading my papers, books and from watching the shows I downloaded. Tried to sleep but failed and ended up staring into space.

I chose a dark red-purple shade for the dyeing part. The last time I dyed my hair was during my pre-wedding days and for that, mummy nagged for 3 days straight. This time round I was smarter, got her blessing since we are sporting the same colour hehe.

I had to have 2 layers of dye applied to my hair as they were too thick (even after layering) and of course the colour takes more time to set in again. 45 mins later, another round of washing is done.

Waiting for the dye to set in
I think my hair had never been washed so many times in a day. Was fearing that they would all dropped after the session.

This time round the stylist did not dry my hair instead she applied some treatment cream while my hair is wet and proceed to steam it with some equipment which releases oxygen in the cover every now and then. I must say the smell is very bad so much so that I am holding my breath half the time during treatment.

The process was finished in 15 mins and went through a final round of washing and drying which takes up another half an hour.

Oxygen hair treatment
Finally, the stylist did some more trimming  before finally announcing that the whole process is done. Final count of hours spent in the salon is 7.

I had never spent so much time in a salon before for my hair. Guess this is the result of doing everything at 1 shot.

Her parting words to me? "I hope I don't need to see you only after 2 years" Haha okie I will try but no promise :P

执子之手,与子偕老

While crossing the road just now on our way home after dinner and saw the auntie working at the bakery holding hands with her hubby walking towards our direction.

You know, I am especially touched when I see this kind of things.

So I asked Mr Love whether he will still hold my hands so lovingly like the couple even we grow old and me growing fatte. Hehe. Its like holding a barrel walking on the streets.

His smartypants reply?

"Of course! Since if I hold a younger and better looking 1 will make me look like a 老牛.."

Wonder should I be happy or sad by his reply?

Busy bee

I am just like a busy bee, not sure what I am busy with since time past faster than I realized its like I do not have enough time on hand to finish what I want to finish.

Was not happy with certain issues but I guess for the sake of Mr Love, I gotta swallow it down. After all I do not want add more stress to him.

So many things to do, so little time and I hope I get to rest well during next long weekend.

Companion

Many around mummy could not understand why she allow dad to come back to us after he walked out on us for 5years.

I couldn't comprehend then too when she sought our approval. We told her decision is hers and we will respect and stand by her no matter what she decide. We knew we will get married someday and move out. Its entirely her call to decided whether he is a worthy companion for her. She took him back, many call it soft hearted but I believed its because she still love my dad dearly.

Her siblings were convinced that dad will do more harm to her by coming back and some even gave her a hard time for her decision to the extend of boycotting my wedding in Malaysia if dad were to attend. I didn't have 1 back then as I wouldn't back down for the request of asking my dad not to attend my wedding.

Utter Rubbish.

It's been 10yrs since dad rejoin our family though he still didn't really mend his ways but at least he is more respectful towards mummy since she has the backing of us -the 3 kids.

He proved to be useful sometimes, accompanying her for meals, strolls when the rest of us got busy with our life. He also provide some sort of entertainment for mummy when he irritates the hell out of her. Sometimes it is pretty funny to hear their squabbles sometimes since they are like kids who quarrels over the smallest things.

The elder 1 has more activities than the household combined and is seldom at home. Furthermore, he is a man of few words. More often than not, he plays a listening ear to mummy's constant nagging/ranting. But it doesn't give her much kick since its like talking to a wall.

I tried as much as I can to call her daily,  go dinner with her when the hubs is working overtime (which is pretty often nowadays). But I couldn't be there as often as she needs me. Weekends are usually spent with Mr Love unless I cooked on the nights and she will pop by. Else, she still let us have our couple time.

The youngest 1, is of no hope. He meets her monthly?  For 1 hr dinner. I wonder how much they can communicate during the dinner since half the time he brings his the other mum along.

So in short, even with 3 kids, she gets lonely sometimes when we get caught up with our things.

Mummy fell sick the other day with fever. Since it's beginning of the month, I am unable to get away from work. Luckily, dad is with her and he manages to help out by cooking porridge for her, giving her massages to make her feel better. It's also relieving to know someone is with her at home when she is unwell.

And tonight when dad is away for work, piggy bro and I took over and went dinner with mummy. In this way, the duties somehow gets even out and mummy got the attention she needed.

Companionship during later years is especially important. Don't you think so?

Chanced encounter

1 evening I was waiting at the bus stop after work, I saw a little boy lying on 1 of the benches. His mum was standing beside him and he was looking pretty bored watching his elder brother running here and there.

Not sure whether because I was looking at him and he decided suddenly he wanted me to be his temporary play mate. Haha

Using his finger to mimic a gun and said "Piang" to me. I was stunned for a while and decided to play along with him. We exchanged "fire" for quite a while and he suddenly blurt out "Not fun one!"

Haha I was taken aback by his suddenly outburst and his mum scolded him for being rude. She reminded him that he was the one who started the game with me but kinda scolded me and told me it was not fun when I played along.

So we went back being quiet and he suddenly asked me "What is your name?" He did all these while lying happily on his backpack on the bench. Both his mum and I were amused by him, his mum scolded him for chatting me up out of the blue but he seems not to care too much.

When I didn't answer him, he pester me for my name and offered me his name. This boy will go far in chatting up girls.

I then asked him his age and he couldn't decide whether he was 3 or 4 haha. Our brief encounter ends when my bus arrived and he happily waved good bye to me.

Seriously, he makes my day. Not everyone has the courage of chatting up a random stranger, let alone for a little kid who usually will shy away from strangers.

Hope to see you again little boy :)
