We did a brief stopover at 姗姗姐's father provision store in Taichung port and move on to lunch after learning her dad is napping.
Wuqi is located near to Taichung port and therefore there are plenty of restaurant offering fresh seafood for choices. The one we went to is called 海港城平价海鲜 and again we left the ordering to our hosts.
1st dish served is prawns We are given a choice to watch how they cooked the live prawns but I couldn't bring myself to see the process so I choose for them to served the final product instead of seeing the whole process. The prawns though not big, but they are very fresh and juicy. Shells peel off easily and you can taste it's juices oozing out from the prawns.

Then came a big bowl of sashimi with 4 different kind of sashimi served. It's placed on ice and served fresh. We finished it pretty quickly as the sashimi will lose the freshness very soon. No need to make a trip to Japan to taste the sashimi, you can get the same in Taichung port.

Then came fried top shell with chilli and onions. This dish is a bit spicy, not that we mind but I wasn't very keen on the top shell as it's a bit difficult to chewy or rather too chewy for me to light.

This is a high in collagen dish since they use very thick fish skin and stir fried with mix veggies. I didn't know what type of fish they are using but the skin is pretty thick and succulent. Using oyster in this dish brings out the taste of the fish skin too.

Japanese fried rice came and I nearly faint since am very full from other food already and there is still a pot of rice to finish. Love the fried rice though but am not able to take more

We were surprise to see fried kang kong here but of course the Taiwanese version do not have the sambal version which we are used to eating here in Singapore. I cannot say much for this dish since I love my kang kong with sambal.

Because our host knows I am in love with this dish, she specially order this for me though they don't really fancy. The squid is also juicy even after deep frying. With salt and pepper added, it's my favourite seasoning of all times. When asked about favourite dish of all, I didn't hesitate to name this one.

Fried calamari |
Lastly salmon miso soup was served and I was still thinking how come there was no salmon sashimi in the first dish, turns out cause this is ordered and thus they didn't want repeat order.
Salmon taste was all over the miso soup, giving it a refreshing taste, I had never taste seafood miso food before thus this is new to me. Attacked a lot of the salmon in the soup. Hehe

I must say the seafood served here is really fresh and juicy and the meal costs NT1,500 (SGD 70). Really satisfied with the food here and of course the pricing.
We made our way back to Hsinchu after lunch and our hosts took us on another freeway which will pass by the coastal area where there are rows and rows of wind turbine generating energy from the wind. I was told that this is the only stretch in Taiwan coast line to have wind turbines as the winds here are stronger and thus suitable to for generating energy.

And more!! |
The activities that our hosts planned end with the lunch and we will be doing our own tour when we reached Hsinchu though we will still be staying 1 more night with our hosts before moving up to Taipei. Really thankful to their hospitality on these 3 days and the activities they planned for us around central Taiwan. Without them, we would never thought of going to these places.
