Cold blooded..Am I??

I decided that I am a cold blooded person oredi..

When mummy informed me that my dad's 2nd bro passed away on Wed, I totally had no reaction..I juz answered her "orh".

Even mummy was puzzled, for this is the person who cried so hard when he granny in law passed away tat mummy could not make out wat I was saying over the phone..

My dad's 2nd bro, which makes him my 二伯 should be super closely related to me.Afterall, we have the same surname, maybe 7same sets of DNA. But I juz dun feel anything..Not happie la, but not sad aso..Juz okie lo, he passed on le...

Actually this only goes to show tat how distant we are.

Was neber close with dad's side relatives, as he is not closed to them either.

But it is kinda sad when I do not feel anything during the whole funeral even though I was there.

I felt I was obligated to at least felt abit tinge of sadness.

But I guess feelings this kind of thing is cannot be fake or forced de..

But seriously, I hope you are in a better world 二伯..

Hope you will find peace where ever you are now..一路好走,二伯。。。

Was toking to hubs the other day, commenting on his age..whhaah And I realised, when we got together 10yrs ago today, he was onli 18...today, he is 28 oredi..how time flies..he is reachin 30....whahah so do I...Booo hooo hoooo hoooooooooo

Didnt celebrate much today, with Mr Love bringing me to Vienna for lunchie as we gotta go to my uncle's funeral at nite...I tink I am not allowed to celebrate anyting within this mourning period aso...

Anyways, we had our celebrations earlier this year when we embark on our trip to Shanghai albeit not a very pleasant 1..but we 2 have our fond memories of it too...

10yrs was so long ago tat much of the details started to fade away oredi..whahah But yesh, I still love this guy beri much with all his bad habits showing up after marriage, I still love him..Maybe even more when we juz got together..whahahah

This guy, is no simple guy aso, to be able to tolerate my temper, my nonsense, my petty n princess alike character..Yesh, 10 yrs of shit, and he is still taking it..But i got my fair share from him too...

As we walked past this milestone of 10yrs, I suddenly felt excited for the 11th year to come..whahah Cuz it would be an excuse for me to buy or plan something again..Till then, we shall love each other with our own little ways each day...*maucks*

Happie Bday Mr Love!!

My hubs turned 28 today..28 years old sounds so old 10 yrs ago..but it seems so scary now..whahaha Was thinking of where to go for his bday dinner, japanese food? thai food?Hot pot? Nah, these are my favourites, not his..

Seriously, I think he onli like western cuisine, didnt see him particularly like any another cuisine le..Anyway, I know he loves pizza, which I am seriously not a fan..Maybe those with all meat types, else, I need alot of time to get rid of the veggies on it..Okie I digress..

Back to the pizza, as I was searching for ideas on where to eat, I came across a blogger raving about a restaurant tat serves wondeful pizza..And so, I found where I should treat him for dinner this year...

But things were not meant to be this year, he faced a BIG, i mean BIG BIG BIG setback at work on his bday...Making him moody..He told me on the way that if not for me being so enthu about his bday, he would not have celebrated it this year...When I told Cindy he said this, she blow up her top...whahaha Saying that he did not appreciate wat I had done for him...

Actually I knew why he felt so dejected, afterall, all the promises were nothing but blank cheques..And it had to happen on his bday..

Okie, So we went to this "Etna Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria" over at East Coast Rd...They had another branch in CBD area, but we reckon it will be crowded with all the working class plp so we decided to travel further to this branch...

A pretty small and cozy place with friendly waiters..I think the boss is aso serving the customer..We took quite a long time to decide wat to eat as the menu were in Italian with english explaination below but still, we took quite a while to look thru every thing...

There are 2 kinds of pizza here, the Red and & White. The Red have tomatos and mozzarella cheese base while the whites is the same onli without the tomatos..This is totally for me kk? I hated tomatos and try as I might, I will avoid eating them even when I am eating pasta or pizzas...

Hubs found the white pizza special and he ordered a Campangnola (Mozzarella chesse, Broccoli (yikeess) and chicken). I ordered a Linguine alla Capesante (Flat pasta with scallops in pink lobster sauce), I will choose pasta over pizza anytime..Moreover, I dun think we will be able to finish 2 pizzas..The waiter told us that the pizza is 12"inch..which serves 1..We wanted to order the Hot Appetizers-Chicken fingers but was told that the hot appetizers were not available as dunno 1 of their wat machine broke down..Oh well...

He then intro us a cold appetizer which he claims to be special to their restaurant..You may get to eat else where maybe, but not much places have it...Carpaccio di Pesce Spada (smoked swordfish fillet with rocket salad, capers, pistachio, dressed with oilve oil and lemon..We agreed to give it a try, and we didnt noe wat is in store for us..

While waiting for the food to arrive, Mr Love filled me in with the details of the day and were venting his frustrations..We then saw Xiang Yun arriving along with the 2 kids..She look more auntie in real life..whahha
Anyway, after telling me all this thoughts, I found him to be in a better mood although not the best..

We were being served a basket of garlic bread..Its was pretty special this bread as, it tastes like cake instead of bread, which means it is kinda of soft..Also, there is no garlic taste in it, not tat it is not nice, but I prefer the traditional type..hehehe..Okie la, neber taste b4..this 1 aso not bad..

Cake like garlic bread
The appetizer came shortly...I had neber tasted swordfish b4 and hence was pretty curious..We squeezed the lemon on it and started eating..But was clueless on how to start..The waiter den came to help us, and to give us some olive oil and i think soy sauce..The smoke swordfish was super salty for our liking to be eaten like tat, but surprisingly, it tastes good when it is mixed with rocket salad..The rocket salad tasted bitter on its own..But Mr Love say no leh..Another thing I notice is the Sworfish do not have a fishy smell even though it is eaten raw..This appetizer is indeed special but seriously not to my liking..
Swordfish salad

My pasta was served next, the portion looked small to me, but as I go along eating, I realise it is actually quite a big portion..Juz that the pasta are being piled up together on the plate and using 3 scallops shells as base...The scallops were humongous can and not to mention juicy...It was being grilled 1st if I am not wrong before frying it with the pasta..Also, although the pasta sauce looks like tomato sauce but it is actually not..It has a tinge of sweet taste to it..Sweet, as in not literally sweet la, its juz the freshness of the seafood taste..But I reckon it is mixed with tomato to cook la the sauce..wahhaha still, this is a good dish..And after finishing the whole plate, I was super full can...
My pasta
Hubs' pizza came last and we nearly fainted at the size..wat 1 person serving..for those light eaters, it can serve 2 lo...Even hubs says he is not confident of finishing 1 by himself..Okie, I dun like the broccoli topping on it...whahaha And when I took a piece to try, I dug out the broccolis...This is wat happen when I eat Non-all meat pizza..Otherwise, the pizza tastes quite good..it has quite a thin base and were baked/grilled watever u called it to juz nice..without the tomato, it seems more appealing to me..there are onli cheesy tastes which suits me juz fine..whahah Mr Love aso said he like the taste of this white pizza..Maybe the next time when we come, he will try the red pizza instead for comparison sake...
Mr Love's pizza
Oh, they served wine too, but both of us are non drinkers and so we gave it a missed..The bill came up to nearly a 100 bucks which was pretty expensive..The restaurant is also abit squeezy when it is full and I did not have space to walk out when I was leaving..The noise level were aso quite high when every 1 started tokin..I still prefer the quietness when we 1st arrive when it is quarter full...There is a 10% discount for DBS and standard char cards, onli dunnno till when...

Still, it is a nice experience with the good food despite the price..Shall go again when we are having any celebrations..heheheh

Oh, his pressie for this year is an IPAD 2...nearly broke my bank to buy him this..And to think we brought from some 1 online thus paying abit more for it as it was sold out when it wa 1st luanched..and I didnt noe it will restock so soon..Stupid APPLE..waste my moniess.....

His bday pressie 2011

HAPPPIE BDAY to you Mr LoVE..may the lower half of the year be better and smoother for you..I love you..You always noe I do...:)
See his half forced smile...

心理测验

Was reading U weekly and came across this psychological test and decided to ask Mr Love to take the test. And so, I read out aloud the choices to him :

Me: “如果你逛街感觉口渴了,你会选以下那个选择
1). 到便利商店买饮料
2). 找间咖啡厅,坐下喝杯饮料
3). 到速食店买饮料

He paused for a while and told me the following
“有第四个选择吗?因为我会选到厕所喝自来水。。。

New zi char haunt found-B K Fortune Seafood

My bestie tempted Mr Love and me with salted egg crabs e other day, offering to go dinner together but put off the meeting later on..whahah Making the 2 of us craving from salted egg crabs..

Yest, Mr Love pissed me off by baking out of his promise to do something n I was irritated..While trying to pacify me, he brought up the idea of going to eat crab today..hehe..Using the same line as my bestie, I told him dun bring me to eat becuz he wanna pacify me...whahah..but he told me he aso quite "gain" to eat..So we decided to go eat lo..

We actually planned to visit the 1 tat my bestie recommend but decide to save it to eat with her n ed..Whahah so In the end, we went to visit the 1 tat I saw from the forum..This zi char stall is famous frm their salted egg crab..

As stated in many forums, the place will start to fill up at 6.30pm, thus kiasu Mr Love n I went there at 5pm...whahah becuz we didnt take lunch la..We were the 1st customer kk..whahha Below are wat we odered :

1). Sambal Kang Kong

The kang kong here costs 6 bucks onli..Its actually quite worth it for this price. Its not so spicy yet with with a tat of sweetness in the gravy..This sambal Kang Kong is suitable for those who cannot take spicy food yet love sambal kang kong. The portion is aso pretty big for 2 persons..

2). Prawn Paste chicken

8 bucks for this dish..Its all mid-joints de..The mid joints are all pretty big and juicy and also the marinating is quite good, you are able to taste the prawn paste. Its best when eaten piping hot..I actually prefer to eat mid joints as compare to those other part's flesh... The chicken remains crispy even after it turns cold but of cuz dun expect it to taste as good as it is piping hot..I think there are 8 of them, which is quite alot for 2 person to eat..
3). Salted Egg Crab

Last but not least, is the recommended salted egg crab..According to the person there, they served us Indonesian crabs today which costs 32/KG. We ordered 2 crabs but I didnt ask to choose, I usually leave it up to the cook to choose de..

We were wowed by the appearance when it was served..The crabs were giantic can...The salted egg gravy looks tasty..Also, this is the dry version de, but not dry till no gravy..The crabs were aso deep fried 1st if I am not wrong, making the crabs abit too dry for my liking..The meat seems to be struck to the shell after all the deep frying..Nevertheless, you can taste the juicness of the meat as you eat but u juz need to more effort to peel off the flesh..

As usual, it should be eaten hot but we took too much time to eat initally and thus when we got to the rest of the crabs, it had turned cold le... Its does not help that I choose a wrong seat, with 1 of the fan facing us, making the food turn cold faster den usual..

The salted egg crab is aso fried with some chilli and onions.. but the crabs are not spicy at all, aso the salted egg is not too salty aso, and I think they used quite a generous portion of salted egg york..Some to deep fry with the crabs, others to stir fry with the crabs before they are served.

Over all, we find the food here to our liking. And the crabs cost 58 bucks..But the price are seasonal..Since we went there at 5pm, we were able to park our car along the street outside the coffeeshop and it is quite windy sitting by the side of the coffeeshop..The total bill came up to 75 bucks and with OCBC or Standard Chart Card, there is a 10% off..No GST or service charge.. It is quite a good deal lo and seldom zi char stall will accept CC de... Looking forward to go back there next time to try other dishes..But I tink shd go in a bigger grp so will be able to order more..

Hot chocolate

I was neber a hot chocolate lover,in fact I will choose coffee over it any other day..

I fell for it during my honeymoon trip to Korea back in 2009.We drank hot chocolate everyday under the cold winter at every stop that the bus uncle made.

Not sure whether it is due to the fact tat we are on honeymoon in a winter country,e hot chocolate tastes extra warming bak den, leavin a lasting impression in me.

Neber really got ard drinking in when we are bak for I went bak to my coffee heheh.

Was in JE lib to revise today and I made a mistake of wearing a tank top n shorts as it started rainin cats & dogs..was gonna freeze to death n I decided to go get something hot to drink from the cafe..Ordered hot chocolate today not sure for watever reasons..

As I sit here sippin my hot chocolate,I suddenly got reminded of the good times we had in Korea..Ohh how times fly..I would like to go bak there again 1 day during winter time with Mr Love and have our hot chocolate n to eat ice cream out in e cold. Till nw the feeling still lingers in my heart :)

I missed

Once, a fwen once me what did I missed most when I 1st shifted out of Mummy's hse..I tink the thing I missed most is dinner time with my family.

Today, we all went to Bukit Timah food centre for dinner..It suddenly reminds me how dinner time should be like.

Ah pig bro and I were trying to order as much food as we can cuz mummy says she is footing the bill. While Liang Liang dun dare to say anything for fear mummy will make him haf maggie for the next 1 mth..Mr Love, being the son-in-law of cuz dont dare to make any comment..

Mummy was shooting down every other ideas Ah pig bro n I brought up and told us to stick to wat we had ordered and quite ordering others..whahha

I am not sure about others, but dinner in my hse is always noisy.Mummy had this rule of starting dinner with every one ard and should onli be restricted to the dining table, thus this had become our point of communication everyday..

I kinda of missed this feeling when I stopped going hm for dinner, dun get me wrong, dinner with Mr Love is aso filled with conversation, but the noisy feeling is juz not there..Dinner with my family is always full of conversation, with some1 start the ball rolling and the others chipping in their 5 cents worth...

Because of this, I treasured every chance I have to go hm for dinner to find back the lost feeling as well as to communicate with my family memebers..For this, I am grateful juz to have a chance to go bak once in a while to haf dinner with them..I'm blessed..

我想太多了。。。

Hubs has this new habit of watching movies from his IPAD2 these few nites when he discovered a new apps which allows him to do so FREE. And nearly every nite, he had been watchin movie beside me while I am trying to fall aslp..Smmore not putting on ear phones can? Its like halfway thru my slp, the screaming from the movies will wake me up, since all he ever watched are those Horror/Suspense shows..Damn..

Last nite, it is aso the same, while trying to fall aslp, tat guy is watchin movie again on his IPAD2 even though I had switched off all the lights in our room. I had to turn to the other side so as not to be affected by the lighting from the IPAD2..And the stupid sound effects are annoying..

I gradually fell aslp after tat, and suddenly, I was awake by the opening of our room door.In my half slply state, I saw Hubs going out to the living room..I tot he had sort out his tots and decided to watch the movie in the living room so as not to disturb my slp..

This morning, when I woke up, I asked him about last nite of him going to the living room. His answer is
“你想太多了啦,我只是出去打电话。。”
Turns out that he onli went out to make a call to the bank to sort out his online purchase, not go out and watch his movie..And seems when he returns to the room I was oredi fast aslp, I didnt noe he continued his movie after tat...

Ok lo...Here I was, thinking that he is so sweet towards me, and there he is, dashing all my hopes..So, my 口头禅 for the week will be “我想太多了”...

走路有风

Few days back, I finally made up my mind to buy my dream bag after years of thinking..Not sure what got into me but it sure took alot of thinking and days of struggling to made this decision..whahah

Sounds serious rite? Its onli a bag, but it is a bag that I have been tinking of yrs.. I can continue to wait but I dunno when they will adjust the price up again.. I was tinking maybe to wait till Oct where Mr Love say we would visit Taipei again. The price there should be cheaper than SG..but but but the trip is not confimed, neither is the price of Coffer there..

Okie, okie I admit my heart ruled over my brains n I went ahead and buy the bag..Its frm an online seller and the colour is in Mughetto(light pink). The seller was selling much much below the selling price..The bag is in good condition when I checked..I beri much wanted to buy the cocoa colour but this Mughetto colour was too sweet to give up..

The bottom line is, I buy the bag le...WHAHAHAHAHA...

And I sent it for coating for water protection..This bag is pretty high maintenance it seems..Cuz my LV bags do not even require me to slap leather lotion on it..But still, I love it to bits..I finally got my dream bag!!! In my favourite colour still...

After coating, I took it out to use yest while going to dinner with Mr Love..He didnt noe how much the bag costs, juz tat he noes its an expensive 1..heheh..

While walking in the carpark towards the building, he suddenly asked me:
"老婆,你背这个bag, 走路会有风吗? 我感觉有一阵强风在旁边吹过。。。"

Miumiu coffer in Mughetto
Win oredi, tat guy, suan me suan till like tat..and throughout the whole nite he keep walkin on the side where I am not holding my bag..He says he doesnt want to block the view of my bag...AGGGRRRR

This will not be my last Miumiu Bag I think as I seriously adore their designs..Not loud n flashy but chic..Shall look forward to my Taiwan trip and see whether can get 1 there or not..This time a new 1..hehehe..Till then, I shall hang on to this bag...

Shocked

Received a msg while I was at Mummy's hse for dinner from a close fwen. She informed me on a happening in her hse. I was shocked and called her back immediately to chat.

She sounds so fragile over the phone, so tired and so scared. I totally understand where she is coming from, afterall, I went thru this not once but twice when my papa got TIA 2yrs back.

There is nothing that I can do for her at the moment even though I wanna be there for her. She is the 1 of those in my life that come closest as a sister to me. The onli thing I can do for her now is to be there for her whenever she need a listening ear.

It strucks me at the point that we are so insignificant as a human being when things happen, there are aso times that we can only stand by and cannot do anything even though we wanted.

Life is so fragile, so small yet so precious.

I wish you well my dear, will pray for you that everything will be fine, and always remember you still got me as your listening ear should you need it. Luv ya sista.

Kluang-14-05-2011

Its the durians season again..hehehe and thus we made a trip back to Kluang in hope getting durains at a cheaper price...heheh aso to visit my aunts la..

St out at 7am, met with a bit of traffic jam at our customs, with the custom officer asking more questions den usual..There was not much of jam on the causeway but again at the Msia customs, clearance was abit on the slow side.. Decide to take the other route tat we failed to take the last time we went bak..

Its becuz we missed the sliped road to the expressway, thus making a big round about the other time..Today, I told Mr Love to maintain a slower speed, and keep driving on the left lane so as not to missed the slip road again..The U turns in Msia were veri far apart and not easy to come across 1...

We finally got onto the expressway successfully this time without missing the slip road entry..It was a pretty smooth journey except that Mr Love drove abit fast today..Keep naggin at him to slow down..Reached our 1st pit stop in Simpang Rengam for breakie..It has became our habit ever since mummy brought us there when we drove her bak to Kluang.

We both loved the fried chickie they served. But as it was sold out, we sat around and waited for 15min for the uncle to prepare..hehehh The wait was worthwhile I should say, as the chickie were served piping hot.. Our usual order will be 2 chickie wings with bee hoon and a cup of coffee..It would costs us RM13. Its cheaper than Singapore breakie if you had convert it back to our currency, but if we compare dollar to dollar, it is actually pretty expensive to have a breakie for 13bucks for 2 of us..Given that the earning power in Msia werent as high as us...
Simpang Rengam Fried chickie wings with bee hoon..
After a hearty breakie, we continued our journey back to Kluang from Simpang, taking a short cut thru the country side instead of going bak to the expressway. Half an hr later, we were in Kluang..It took us longer today due to the wait for the chickie wings..

Er yi made us my fav coffee and we drank the 2nd cup of the day..The aroma of hometown coffee..Itsss good..whahah even Hubs got hook on it and would drink it every time he is bak with me..He is not exactly a coffee drinker..whahaha

Sat ard and chat with my aunties and my little cousin who were drawing his master art piece for his exam..And we proceed to check out the durians..Turns out that it is still early and the vendors had not opened for the day yet. Xiao yi say muz wait till late afternoon where the vendors would den transport the durians from the plantations after collection..

We went to haf lunch at Botak curry mee stall, another of our muz eat whenever we go bak..According to my aunties, they actually dun find it nice lo..whahah The onli time they will visit is when Mr Love and I are bak...whahah But seriously, the both of us love it to bits kk...We would ordered 3 bowls everytime and share..

This is the real curry mee, not laksa and not over dosed with coconut milk..Love the curry soup base..also the mee is pretty special, unlike those we eat in SG where you will taste the flour taste, the mee here totally have nothing of this taste..I would always ordered the bee hoon and then share the mee with Mr Love..
Our fav curry mee
After curry mee, we drove to town with Hwa Hwa where the bookstore is opened for business. Business had not been good recently it seems..Stayed in bookstore for 2hrs and chat with Hwa Hwa to escape the hot weather outside.Surprisingly the weather was consider pretty cooling for Kluang's standard.

We then went shoppin at Kluang mall..Brought practically nothing there except for 2 pairs of hse slippers which costs onli RM10..whahah damn cheap can, even cheaper den BKK....Not much of design but whu cares...

I brought some of the regular snacks for Hwa Hwa and then went back to the bookstore again to chat till ard 5pm..We then bid Hwa Hwa goodbye and promise to come back during National day holidays before going back to Er Yi's hse where we would eat dinner and then return to SG..

Xiao Yi drove us to buy durians in her car as she say the vendor would jerk up the price if he sees a SG carplate...whahaha Mr Love & I keep quiet throughout the whole transaction as it is all converse in Bahasa Melayu..Brought 10kg of durians at RM12/KG...Pretty cheap by our standards and the durians are superb!! Although Xiao yi says the price is a bit steep..But with this amount of $$ we cannot buy anything decent here not to mentioned to bring 4 full big ice cream containers of durians back...

We left Kluang at 6.20pm and reached SG at 8.00pm..Drove Xiao yi zhang bak to SG aso.Super noisy tat guy, keep bickering with me during the journey..Its a wonder I didnt kick him out of the car during the journey..

We went back to mummy's hse where every1 started to savour the durians we brought back..Its been a long time since I last ate durians..Shall go back again if my cravings kicks in..:)

Breakfast or Dinner

Was at Far East today with Mr Love when he goes there to buy his latest hp (wat's new?) and we saw this rest selling pratas..Hehe I suddenly change my mind to wan eat pratas for dinner instead of the earlier agreed Shihlin snacks..

But I was craving for the prata at Thomson Road instead of the 1 in Far East..Whahaha Mr Love agreed to go there after buying his hp as we did not eat there for a quite a long while...

We reached at 9pm and ordered 1 cheese and 1 egg prata each and a fried chickie to share..On top of it, Mr Love ordered a ice tea tarik and me a ice milo..

I had always loved cheese pratas but not many conventional prata stalls have it and also I would not eat that for breakie..I usually will onli eat egg and kosong for breakie onli..hehe

But we were abit disappointed with the pratas today, they were served cold to us. They did not bother to warm it up prior to serving..I can understand that they had cooked the prata before hand but the fact that the prata is cold spoils the mood lo..We both love eating piping hot pratas (who doesnt?)
Pratas
We decided to order 1 more Mee goreng to share to fill our stomach..But I did warned Mr Love, if it is full of veggies and bean spouts, den he is gonna to finish it himself..whahaha I eat Mee Goreng Kosong 1..Unlike the mee goreng served in Adam's road market, the mee goreng here actually have less veggies and more mee..It is the onli dish served hot and amid of it, abit spicy..I actually like this mee goreng..

I've been super picky when it comes to mee goreng due to my special diet of no veggies but I actually ate quite alot here...The onli downside is, there is onli 2 slices of fishcakes n basically nothing much inside the mee goreng..Still, it is quite tasty...

Mee goreng
The bill came up to SGD 17.50 pretty costly for a prata dinner but nonetheless I fulfilled my cravings...whaahahah.

Mother's Day Celebration-Mummy

Last weekend, we went for Mother's Day celebration with my family, Mummy, my 2 Bros and Val..Its was an annual celebration for her bday and mother's day. We always do it this way since dunno which year..

Mummy would asked for a different pressie every year from us, HP, makeover photoshoot, jewelleries etc.. She will go choose her own gift, buy 1st and collect the money from us..This is the most practical way of giving her pressie or so she claimed..whahahah but we are used to it le, no need racked our brains over the pressie..

Last yr, she was due to fly to Europe during her bday and so she encashed her gift..Meaning to say, she dun wan gifts and asked for ang baos instead..whahah straight in my face she tell me can...I gave her a pretty big 1 as the things in Europe arent cheap..

This year, she is going back to her dad's hometown in China with her brothers n my brother to pay a visit to her relatives there..Again, she said she wan ang bao onli so that she got funding for the trip..Faintzzzz..Ya, and it is ang bao she gets..

Neverhteless, my elder bro asked to organised a meal for her and since he had exchanged for a crystal jade voucher from M1, we decided to eat there..I didnt manage to get a reservation as they do not accept, thus we went at 5pm to queue up for a place and if you think we are kiasu, there are oredi plp in queue can..whahah Went to the newly opened Clementi Mall, mum always have a soft spot for clementi as it is where we lived for many yrs before shifting to CCK...

I muz admit that I am deeply disappointed with the service. Order Barley drink for all 6 of us but after 5min, the waitress came n informed us that they ran out of Barley drink..HUH? I tot you juz opened for business? She onli came with 1 cup can?We told mummy to take the drink and the rest of us ordered Honey Lemon.

10min later, I got abit impatient and asked the team leader why our drinks are not served yet? You know what? She raised her voice at me!Telling me "在弄,要来了啦" I was damn pissed by her attitute, am I not entitled to even ask? If the food is served slow, I can understand, but how difficult is it to serve drinks 1st? Isnt the basic rule to serve drink 1st? Damn it, told my bro to keep a lookout for her name tag as I wanna lodge a complain towards her..She didnt dare to face me after that as I tink she senses my anger...

And oh, the food, was realli nothin fantastic, in fact, it was below my expectations. This is the 1st time we've been to Crystal Jade and I found the food disappointing.Below are what we ordered:

1). 四季豆炒虾酱
1stly, the serving seems abit like those in a rush and anyhow dump the veggies on the plate. Realli CMI. Liang Liang commented tat their 四季豆is abit on the nuah nuah side..I found it abit tasteless to be frank. 1st dish- FAILED!

四季豆炒虾酱
  2). 宫保鸡丁
I am not sure whether they under serve us or simply used too big a plate but this is their medium portion kk? This dish the best among we ordered. By the best, I dun mean the best of all 宫保鸡丁 I've eaten before. This is at most average onli, but it tastes better den the other dishes of the night. Not too spicy for my family member's liking, and quite an amount of cashew nuts thrown...

宫保鸡丁
  3). 红烧鱼腩
Up next is the fish, this is special can? The 1st time in my life I am served on the middle portion of the fish instead of 1 whole full fish..No wonder the waitress was asking whether I wan the middle part or the tail part. Turns out that they cut the fish up part by part n serve de..Win oredi..And it doesnt even look like fish when it was 1st presented to us..Looks like the tofu that they placed beside it.. The portion was miserable can even with the middle sized orderd..Each 1 of us took a mouthful onli..Lucky didnt ordered the small sized..I tink onli mummy gets to ea the fish with the rest of us eating the tofu or veggies..
红烧鱼腩
 4). 菜葡蛋
This is the most classic of all dishes..Super salty lo!!!While I understand Cai-por is salty by nature but neber in my life I tasted such awful Cai Por egg..And they claimed for oysters inside..Of all pcs I ate, I didnt taste oyster leh, maybe I suay? Even my elder bro whu is an egg fan didnt wanna eat much of this dish..But we did finish it la, cuz not full ma..whahaha

菜圃蛋
 5).咸蛋虾
This is most disappointing of all. The picture looks so tempting,so delicious but then when we it is 1st served, we were all sianzz lo..Look beri dry, and the prawn looks like being anyhow thrown onto the plate again.. Den the prawn aso dun haf the taste of the salted egg lo, in another words, the prawn is tasted bland, not favoured enuff..The prawn was aso not fresh, abit on the small side..I would anytime prefer the wasabi prawns from Zhou's Kitchen..

咸蛋虾
 6).Sweet and Sour Pork
Last but not least is the Sweet & Sour Pork. This is a muz ordered as my bro hearted it.. I onli tasted a pc of it onli and I find it abit on the tough side..

Sweet & Sour Pork
We spent about 180bucks here and were not satisfied with the service or the food served at all.I am not sure whether the food standard is like tat or it is due to Mother's day and they were in a rush thus explaining the sub-standard food. Or their food is juz like that. I am thing I am sure, I will not go bak again..As I made payment, I aso asked for a feedback form to be given so that I can fill in..Not sure whether they would take any action at all as I did put down my particulars..

We did not have eat to our content at Crystal Jade so Mummy suggest us to go Swensens for ice cream..We ordered juz ice cream here and while waiting, we camwhore abit using my polaroid camera..Mummy was damn funnie can. She asked for the pic to be retake saying that she dun like the angle of her head in the 1st photo..She claimed it look too high..whhahhaha...Den she told me to take the 1st photo tat she dun like..Faintzzz...

Our ice cream were served quite slow and by now, I am tired to find some 1 to scold..Ice cream was already melting when we were served...Sianz...It was a lousy nite but great company..It always feel great to have a meal with my love 1...Happie bday and Mother's day Mummy!!!

李式笑话- 胎教

You have heard of women doing 胎教 during their pregnancies but have if heard of men doing so? My hubs is 1 such person.

He was listening to FM92.4 the whole morning using his new IPAD 2 and I was abit puzzled why he was listening to the classical music whole morning instead of FM 93.3.

Me: 老公,你怀孕啊?整个早上都在听古典音乐。。
Mr Love: 还没有,我在为我的精子做胎教,以后你就不用那么辛苦了。。。

I nearly died of laughter when I heard his reply..Thanks alot hubs, you are the best hubs 1 can ever wished for..whahahah

GE 2011-The Finale

Stayed up till 3am to watch the telecast of the results. Stupid, waste the 1st 2 hrs gluing my eyes to the TV where they broadcast nothing relevant to the results. I turned to twitters later where the 1st hand news are update from various counting centres. There is more like it..Finally at 12am, the returning officer started to announce the results 1 by 1..

Was abit disappointed by the fact tat PAP won CCK by quite a big margin as compared to other GRC. I always tot NSP will at least win 45% of the votes here.Seems like CCK is quite a strong hold of PAP huh, hope you dun take the support from the residents here for granted. prove urself for the next 5 yrs...

Its was reported quite early in twitter tat Aljunied had gone to WP but no 1 can confirm till it is offically announced.A big milestone for WP I should say and they get to keep their Hougang SMC too..Hope they will be able to deliver what they have promise during the election, I am not expecting miracle but still something muz be shown to us that it is worthwhile for the residents in Aljunied to give you their support, perhaps at the next elections, plp will be more confident to vote for the opposition party..

The total vote share for PAP has dropped to 60.6% and is by far the poorest performance since independence. I tink this should be a wake up call to them. This shd be also the most accurate number as neber before in Singapore we had so many seats contested by the opposition, nearly whole Singapore goes to vote with the exception of residents of Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Then again, I am not overlookin the things you have done for us, but juz wish you can do a better job. Afterall you are getting well paid for this job and it is onli rite of us to haf high expectations from you. Else y take the high salary?

With all the results out, and the dust settled, PAP must now proved to us that they will also delivered what they promised. We shall be watching your performance in the coming 5 yrs...

A friend in need is a friend indeed

Received a surprise msg from a certain fwen (lets name A) tat I tot I lost long ago..It was heart warming to know that A is still a fwen. No doubt when I juz received the msg, I was deliberating whether to reply to the msg or not. After all, I do not it to be leak out to the persons I do not want to know.

I decided to give A benefit of the doubt and replied. Turns out that A has something to update me too.It is nice of A to do so, given that I can be omitted fromt the news since I am not longer connected to the network, but actually, I oredi came to know le..whahah..But to get the news from the person directly 1st hand was different.

Instead, I chose to shut A out of my news during this whole period, partly aso I dunno wat to tell A out of the blue and I tot A would not be interested to know. After all it had been 2mths since I 1st found out about the condition and A hadnt been in touch since knowing. Why offer information to plp when plp could not careless? I aso do not want to keep relating the condition in the initial stages due to fear..

Well, I had aso been skeptical of certain things A did, althought I did wanna ask A alot of time during this mornin conversation, I could not bring myself to ask.It is afterall consider a taboo..So, I think the doubts will be left as it is judging from the situation now..

Thank you A, for your concern and message this morning, no matter it is genuinue or not. I sincerely take it as a genuine concern on ur part. Whether you are reading this or not, I wanna let you know that you made my day today by giving me a feeling that I found my long lost fwen back.

May you succeed in watever you do and all the best to u.

Now Reading

I came across this book when I was in Harris 2 days ago while waiting for hubs to finish shopping for his IPAD 2 accessories. Its been quite a while since I last visit Harris, maybe 1 mth ago? I had long finished all the books I last brought.

This time, this book I brought is titled "Nothing to Envy" with narrators recounting the lives in North Korea.

North Korea is easily said to be 1 of the most mysterious country in the world. Worlds apart from its' neighbours or former partner, South Korea. While South Korea is moving forward with the times, North Korea however seems to be stopped moving or rather been moving backwards.

I had always been curious about life in this country where rumours said that they are eating tree barks due to lack of food.

Been half way thru the book onli but it is enuff to send chill down my spine by reading how the plp survive and how they lived under the ruling of their supreme leader..It is realli an eye opener with real life accounts from the defectors telling the author of encounters there..Man, it makes me count my blessing to be born in Singapore once again..

How deep is your Love

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And its me you need to show

Chorus:
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

I believe you and me
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're the saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And its me you need to show

Chrous

GE2011-Cooling day

How ironic, today is cooling day but the weather is anything but cooling..Gonna melt under the hot sun.

The past 9 days had been interesting, to see the various parties campainging for this election, it should be by far the most exciting election is Singapore's History and I am not sure whether we will have another such exciting election in future or not.

PAP has announced that they will aso focus on the sandwich class and the youngesters (21-35yrs) group. Our PM had apologised on behalf of his government. I am impressed that PM is now eating the humble pie. But you know what, it would be good if the apologies comes from the person invovle not the big boss.

I notice that PM is more humble, more willing to listen more than his peers. When some of the ministers speaks, it still strikes me that they still dunnno wat went wrong..If you dunno what went wrong, and dun listen and dismiss our complaints as noise, den you cannot blame us for wanting another voice in the governement.

One of the new candidate for Sembawang GRC commented that when he was young, the exchange rate for Greenback to us is USD 1 to SGD 3, now the exchange rate is USD 1 to SGD 1.22. It shows our currency is getting stronger blah blah blah...But why is that our inflations are aso getting higher? A stronger currency should results in a lower import cost and thus inflation should be able to be controlled and not getting as high as every where in the world. Isnt it the case?

But it is not, isn't it? When we buy crude oil, we are using USD rite? But when the oil prices rises, all petrol, electricity rises too. If our currency is strong as compare to 20yrs ago, den we shd be able to absorb this rises rite? How come the prices of the necessity still rises? It onli goes to shows that it is the Greenback tat is getting weaker, not SGD getting stronger. In fact, alot of countries are at their peak on the rate VS the greenback. This are the comments of the people who cannot convince me. Try harder next time.

Not only the PAP brings up invalid points, the opposition does that too. I mean, it is good to have another voice in the parliment but I am not asking you to oppose to every other thing the government had. For instance, there is a call from NSP to either reduce or scrape our GST. I mean, get real! How is our government gonna generate their revenue from without GST? It juz sounds so tempting, but then it is not pratical at all..I would be grateful enuff if they are not going to hike it up anytime soon..In fact, our country has 1 of the lowest GST in the world, look at Msia, I think their government tax is at 10%...not to mention the 17.5% VAT of the European countries..I am oredi counting my blessings.

Also there is this party who wanted to use 60bil for some project they suggest...I mean, HELLO u wanna touch the reserves?Haven get elected and you are toking on our reserves...This is what my mum always scold us when we are young, 还没有学赚钱就要学花钱。。。This is totally unacceptable...This is a dangerous concept to be frank, a dangerous thinking..

The topic of the length of our national service has been touched on, to reduce to 15mths. As I did not went through it, I cannot comment much, but for my 5 cents worth, we should not reduce it even further, this will not allow ample time for the soldiers to get trained properly. Yes, it may seems to be a waste of time, but then in times of emergencies, proper trainin will realli get us far..Defence is an important issue to our tiny island surrounded by the many big countries. Defence budget shd nt be cut too. This is not a matter to be compromised.

At the past few rallies, quite alot of tears flow, you get the old PAP uncle crying in the rain in midst of his speech, you get the young NSP star crying while doing her walkabout and relating the sob story during the rally...

Seriously, I dun find all the tears necessary, it may due to ur real reactions but still to cry on national TV is abit like 博取同情。。

After hearing so many talks, interviews, speeches from both sides, tomorrow is the day we would make our choice. I will be waiting anxiously for tmr's outcome. No matter how grateful, impress I am with PAP, I do hope that WP will get their 1st GRC seats tmr..This, will be a milestone for Singapore's politics and will be a wake up call to the arrogant chaps..Good luck to all tmr!!

GE 2011-NSP Rally for 2011

Attend NSP rally with Mr Love and bro yest at CCK stadium despite the rain. Wanted to see what they are gonna tok about the plans they have for CCK GRC...

Was pretty surprised at the turnout of a huge crowd.I guess most of us are residents in this GRC..unlike WP's rally, where plp frm all over SG flocked there to listen what the most promising opposition have to say..

After days of listening to both side, I must say I am realli not sure till yest wat the opposition will do if they are voted in. No, I do not want PAP to be toppled, I juz wish there are some opposition in to help to keep them in check.

I muz say, I'm pretty impressed with NSP's rally last nite, they did highlight their plan for us, they did bring out valid points to argue on. But I dun realli agree with all their suggestions they brought out.

PAP muz noe that I, as a citizen of this country didnt forget what they did for us to bring us forward to the current standard, but they muz aso noe at the same time as we are moving forward, we do have higher expectations of the government. Cannot be country moving forward but government is doing henta daki rite?

Moreover, I find tat some of the younger PAP candidates strike me as arrogant not to mentioned that they ride on the higher posts ministers' power to get voted in unchallenged. This, makes them thinks that they are invincible..

At 7.30pm..All in for shelter due to rain, onli a handful stood by the stage to watch

Stands are full at 8pm

Crowd start fillin in at 8.30pm

After the rain
This time, I think we shd realli have some voice inside to keep them in check, to remind them to put the citizens as their priority. The next 5 yrs will be watched by the younger generation. They muz remember that the older generation, are slowly ageing and we the younger crowd will rise to be future owners of Singapore. Plan something, say something, do something to let us think that we can still trust u like our parents' batch. Else, dun blame us for choosing the other players, this is nothing against any party, this is for us to decide our fate, our children's fate.

Happie Bday Ah Gong...

I actually dunno the actual date of Mr Love's Ah gong bday, but I rememebered that we always will have the celebrations ard Labour Day..whahah so every time when its May, I would asked my DIL when we are gonna celebrate Ah Gong's bday. I would need remind Mr Love aso, he doesnt rememeber even after all these yrs..

We went to Xian Seafood at Punggol this year, the place was pretty ulu and without driving, I tink its quite difficult to reach there..Surrounding was nice though, abit like in nature reserve. Most importantly is it is near where Ah Gong is currently staying now- Gu Gu's hse. As Ah Gong is having diffculties in walking, and sometimes will wanna lie down after sitting for too long, it is best to arrange to celebrate somewhere near so as to prepare for in the event he wanna leave half way.

But Ah Gong was in a good mood, he sat there for nearly 2hrs without complanin much it seems. The service was veri slow, think they were short handed, the food were not tat nice, too salty for my liking..The noodles they fried were the worst, i could nt get past the 2nd mouthful. On top of it, I heard that the price were aso expensive. Neber going bak again, was every 1's comment.

Seeing Ah Gong looking good took a great relief off me. Just yesterday, I learnt from DIL that he has been admitted to hospital for his back pain again..Didnt realli recovered from the fall earlier this year. I initially was worried that he would be beri much affected by Ah Ma's passing but seem like he walked out of the darkness le..

Went up to greet him and chatted briefly. He still can recalled me but he always could not get my name. He refers to me as the youngest grand daughter in law..whahah this is exactly how he intro me to the nurses when I visited him at the hospital previously. Nearly every nurse, he introduced me to them..

Its good to see him having his appetite back as I heard from Mr Love's cousin that previously, he would not eat due to the back pain..He even took a bit of the chocolate on his bday cake and eat while waiting for the cake to be cut. whahah..

Happie 83rd bday to you Ah Gong, May u haf a long life and be free from the pain and illness...

Confessions of a Middle class child-Part 2

17-20 yrs (Poly days)

During these years, my dad left our family, making my mum the sole breadwinner in the family, during these days, my housewife mum went out to work for the 1st time in her life in SG..

  • After my O levels, for every vacation I get, I would find any temp placements to work and to earn some pocket money, be it for my new sch books, clothes or wat so ever expenses I need...Mum say u work for wat u wan, dun expect her to give monies for your wants..
  • During my sch terms, I would give tuition at night and hand my mum half the fees for our hse hold expenses.
  • After graduating from Poly, I am not able to get into NTU when I applied the 1st time, reason being, the government onli allows the top 5% of the cohort into Uni, with a GPA of 3.4, I am no where near the 5%..Thanks man, my family is unable to send me to overseas due to family constraint..
  • Started working and part time studee..it is no easy feat, nearly wanted to kill myself every now and then and sch n work got busy althogether..
21yrs and above

It is lucky that I started work early at 17, having quite an amount in my CPF, neber in my dream I know this will come in handy.

Hubs and I were both the middle child coming from lower middle income family. Parents were neither rich enuff to provide all for us, nor poor enuff to let us suffer much..Juz having alot of restrictions here n there..
When we planned to get married in 2008, we know we need a flat, at the tender age of 24 & 25, we were unable to fork out the ridiculously high COV or our parents have enuff to lend/support/sponsor us. We took things into our hand and applied 1 thru balloting.

Luck was on our side, I shd say. The hse prices were rising, but nt that fast, and my hse is the last batch tat HBD sold under the bi-monthly sales at a lower price. The catch is, this is a 14yr old hse, in 1 of the most ulu place in SG-Yew Tee on a 3rd floor. Some of my fwens tot I was crazy to buy, but we tot this is our only chance on owning a hse on our own..

Took the plunge and neber look bak since, shifted in without any renovations, rented out the rooms to fund for our weeding/ expenses for the hse and future renovation..This is how we manage to get thru all these yrs.. Within a yr after I got my hse, I saved enuff to hold my wedding, took our weddin photos and went for honeymoon..All these are done on our own. We were the lucky 1, as many of our fwens are not able to even get a flat. Some, might but the price is a whole lot higher, some did have the support from parents but there are others who are in the same situation as us and are still waiting to save enuff for onli a wedding..

This is the real life experience of a child from a lower middle class family with maybe a little more lucky den some others. Where the government seems to forget about us, living us to stuggle on our own with the ever increasing prices..

Tell me, how many of our leaders went thru these during their growing up years? Not many I dared to say..Only if you are able to feel for us, understand our difficulties and stop acting arrogant, den I will be able to be convinced that the government looks out for the citizens..For the time being, you are juz looking out for yourself and watever you mentioned are all excuses in my humble opinion. So stop bullshitting and get your asses down to work!!!

Mother's day 2011-Mother in law

Ever since I got married, we have to take turns to schedule to bring our parents our for dinner on festive occasions like CNY, mother's, father;s day...This yr, we went with mil 1st as we will celebrate mummy's bday together with mother's day in late May...

Brought her to the famous Still road black pepper crab that Cindy had always been promoting..whahhaha She brought me there once to try and I feel in luv with the crabs, since MIL aso love crabs, muz as well bring here there n try...

Went at 4pm as I read in the reviews tat by 5, they would be full hse..Reached at 4.30pm and the coffeeshop was already half filled..Seriously, where got plp take dinner at 4 de?but no choice, if this is the way the game is play, this is the way we play the game..hehhe

Ordered 4 pepper crabs, a plate of mee goreng, a plate of sambal Kang Kong and fried fritters..Crab was the main dish and it was the best dish of all.

Mee goreng was abit cold when it was served to us, our guess is, it is the last plate of the previous fry as we saw the next table's serving was piping hot, can still see the steam comin out of the mee..But their mee goreng was also quite good, tasty, not too salty, abit spicy but not over..It is still best to eat it hot...

Next served was sambal kang kong, abit so-so onli..The sambal used to fried the kang kong was not abit fragrant at all and not spicy..I like my sambal kang kong to be spicy. Also, I find it to be abit on the dry side, some sambal kang kong will have abit of gravy when served, here, they served the Kang Kong dry..
Sambal Kang Kong without gravy
Followed closely behind it the fried fritters. Tasted not bad if not for being too full towards the end of the meal. It is best when serve hot, along with the mayo they squeeze all over the fritters, you need no other sauce to go with it. It was being neglected after the crabs were served. So this is only the 配角..whahahah

Fried Fritters
Last, but no least, the crabs arrived..Every 1 start diggin in while I am still trying to take a picj of it..Whahaha Parents in law were impressed with the black pepper sauce they used. There was a generous amount of gravy on the plate for you to dip ur crab into it..I think the reason why their crab is so famous is becuase of their gravy..It's thick, fragant, yet not too spicy..Or maybe abit when it is serve piping hot, after a while, your taste buds will get use to it...

Crabs served were juicy, unlike some coffee shop, where their crabs seems not to have too much flesh. Crabs here have ALOT, ALOT of flesh and you can literally taste their juiciness once you bite into the flesh..Their crabs are also of bigger size, therefore, the 5 of us can share 4 crabs..Usually, Mr Love and I is able to finish 1 each at other places along with other dishes..

Now you see it,

Now you don't
They have other types of cooking method for the crabs, like chilli or steam crabs. I had not tried their steam crabs before but their chilli crabs was no where as fantastic as their black pepper counter parts. Unless you have a super big group, you might wan to order 2 to try out, else I recommend otherwise. 1 thing to note, the minimum order for the crab is 2. If 1 is not a big eater, den try not to order other dishes.

There are no reservations of seats allowed here, but can call and reserve the crabs, juz that you gotta queue for a seat to be available. The coffeeshop operating hrs are from 4-8pm. The 1st time when Mr Love and I tried to search for this place and failed, we followed the postal code as given on Internet..whahah

This time, however we are successful and I noted down the directions. Take PIE(Changi) and exit Eunos exit. Turn right at the exit and travel along Still road. You will see a signage for Parkway hospital East coast. Turn right at the junction where the signage is and park your car at the open carpark at the coffeeshop located at right hand side. There is a gantry system there. Then, walk to the cross junction and cross the road to Eng Sen Coffee shop. The outer looks super rundown de..whaha..I think is still able to park along Joo Chiat place, but muz walk further..So the parking I went shd be the nearest le..If I am not wrong, as this is recommended by the lady boss when I call them for directions...whahaha

The Address
They are closed on every Wednesday and there are limited stock of the crabs every day. I heard at during weekends, if you are there after 6.30pm, den chances are, the crabs will be sold out...Maybe weekday is a better choice to go there if it is not too inconvenient.

See the long queue at 6pm
