Kluang-14-05-2011

Its the durians season again..hehehe and thus we made a trip back to Kluang in hope getting durains at a cheaper price...heheh aso to visit my aunts la..

St out at 7am, met with a bit of traffic jam at our customs, with the custom officer asking more questions den usual..There was not much of jam on the causeway but again at the Msia customs, clearance was abit on the slow side.. Decide to take the other route tat we failed to take the last time we went bak..

Its becuz we missed the sliped road to the expressway, thus making a big round about the other time..Today, I told Mr Love to maintain a slower speed, and keep driving on the left lane so as not to missed the slip road again..The U turns in Msia were veri far apart and not easy to come across 1...

We finally got onto the expressway successfully this time without missing the slip road entry..It was a pretty smooth journey except that Mr Love drove abit fast today..Keep naggin at him to slow down..Reached our 1st pit stop in Simpang Rengam for breakie..It has became our habit ever since mummy brought us there when we drove her bak to Kluang.

We both loved the fried chickie they served. But as it was sold out, we sat around and waited for 15min for the uncle to prepare..hehehh The wait was worthwhile I should say, as the chickie were served piping hot.. Our usual order will be 2 chickie wings with bee hoon and a cup of coffee..It would costs us RM13. Its cheaper than Singapore breakie if you had convert it back to our currency, but if we compare dollar to dollar, it is actually pretty expensive to have a breakie for 13bucks for 2 of us..Given that the earning power in Msia werent as high as us...
Simpang Rengam Fried chickie wings with bee hoon..
After a hearty breakie, we continued our journey back to Kluang from Simpang, taking a short cut thru the country side instead of going bak to the expressway. Half an hr later, we were in Kluang..It took us longer today due to the wait for the chickie wings..

Er yi made us my fav coffee and we drank the 2nd cup of the day..The aroma of hometown coffee..Itsss good..whahah even Hubs got hook on it and would drink it every time he is bak with me..He is not exactly a coffee drinker..whahaha

Sat ard and chat with my aunties and my little cousin who were drawing his master art piece for his exam..And we proceed to check out the durians..Turns out that it is still early and the vendors had not opened for the day yet. Xiao yi say muz wait till late afternoon where the vendors would den transport the durians from the plantations after collection..

We went to haf lunch at Botak curry mee stall, another of our muz eat whenever we go bak..According to my aunties, they actually dun find it nice lo..whahah The onli time they will visit is when Mr Love and I are bak...whahah But seriously, the both of us love it to bits kk...We would ordered 3 bowls everytime and share..

This is the real curry mee, not laksa and not over dosed with coconut milk..Love the curry soup base..also the mee is pretty special, unlike those we eat in SG where you will taste the flour taste, the mee here totally have nothing of this taste..I would always ordered the bee hoon and then share the mee with Mr Love..
Our fav curry mee
After curry mee, we drove to town with Hwa Hwa where the bookstore is opened for business. Business had not been good recently it seems..Stayed in bookstore for 2hrs and chat with Hwa Hwa to escape the hot weather outside.Surprisingly the weather was consider pretty cooling for Kluang's standard.

We then went shoppin at Kluang mall..Brought practically nothing there except for 2 pairs of hse slippers which costs onli RM10..whahah damn cheap can, even cheaper den BKK....Not much of design but whu cares...

I brought some of the regular snacks for Hwa Hwa and then went back to the bookstore again to chat till ard 5pm..We then bid Hwa Hwa goodbye and promise to come back during National day holidays before going back to Er Yi's hse where we would eat dinner and then return to SG..

Xiao Yi drove us to buy durians in her car as she say the vendor would jerk up the price if he sees a SG carplate...whahaha Mr Love & I keep quiet throughout the whole transaction as it is all converse in Bahasa Melayu..Brought 10kg of durians at RM12/KG...Pretty cheap by our standards and the durians are superb!! Although Xiao yi says the price is a bit steep..But with this amount of $$ we cannot buy anything decent here not to mentioned to bring 4 full big ice cream containers of durians back...

We left Kluang at 6.20pm and reached SG at 8.00pm..Drove Xiao yi zhang bak to SG aso.Super noisy tat guy, keep bickering with me during the journey..Its a wonder I didnt kick him out of the car during the journey..

We went back to mummy's hse where every1 started to savour the durians we brought back..Its been a long time since I last ate durians..Shall go back again if my cravings kicks in..:)
