Taipei Revisited 2011-Pingxi Line (平溪线)

Woke up early today to get ready for a new day adventure. After much research, I decided we shall explore 平溪 area today. Pingxi line, is a single track branch Line, it runs through Ruifang (瑞芳） to Jing Tong (菁桐）.

I read about releasing of sky lanterns (天灯） in Shifen (十分） and the waterfall there, visiting Pingxi old street (平溪老街） etc. Thus am excited to explore this train line of what is left of Taiwan 3 most scenic railways.

Took a train from Taipei(台北） to Ruifang （瑞芳）where we would then board the Pingxi line train. From Taipei, it takes bout 45min to reach Ruifang, along the way, we camwhore a bit and admire the scenery as we both were asleep the last time we travel on this line in 2010. Ruifang is also the nearest station to 九份 , having been there before, we were no strangers to this station.

 Was snapping away as we travelled towards Ruifang. As its a weekday morning, the train is pretty empty with most of the people travelling to Taipei for work instead of out of it.

The thing we noticed about trains in Taiwan is, we are allowed to consume food on it, seen some people munching their breakie as they travel to work. But the thing is after eating, they would hold on to the wrappers and dispose it properly after disembarking from the train. Hence the train is as clean as our Singapore version though they are allow to consume food onboard.

Wow, I mean really wow they could have thrown it onboard out of convenience but nope, Taiwanese people are so well behaved that I couldnt even find tissue paper thrown on the floor of their trains. Really IMPRESSED.

 Upon reaching Ruifang, do not exit the concourse, instead, go straight to the counter near the exit. This is where we brought the train tickets for Pingxi line, each pax cost NTD 52 (SGD 2.30). It allows unlimted rides on Pingxi line, all you have to do is keep the tix with you.

I have done some research before this trip and thus is able to coordinate the time of our arrival and minimizes the waiting time for PingXi Line train. Hubs is not the most patient guy on earth and prolonged of waiting will bring out his uglier side that I dun wan to see. On the other hand, as we need to cover a few places on this line, timing is essential.

Also, if time is scarce, it would be wiser to check the timetable of the trains since trains on Pingxi Line is not that frequent.

The train arrived shortly after we finished our camwhoring, though it was a weekday, there was quite a crowd taking PingXi line. A group of elderly was aso with us, guess it is 1 of their day trip:) Journey time from Ruifang to Shi Fen(十分）which is our 1st stop is ard 25min.

I learnt from a co-worker today the ugly side of the other 2 co-workers today during lunch..So disgusting that I couldnt believe my ears..I cannot believe they did this kind of things to a newcomer..To think they are consider seniors...Now I noe why someone once term them as witches, I still tot tat guy was juz being nasty, but when I heard their doings, I totally agree with tat term..

I recalled when I 1st went bak, their attitudes towards me, if not for the angels beside me, I am not able to hold on for so long..Much as I dun like them doings, neber I have the mind to go set them up. Instead , 1 of the more evil 1 tried means and way to set me up at work. Back stabbing, bad mouthing, withholding information, picking on me,these are all her doings..

She didnt stop in her tracks to think that all these that she is doing to others, maybe 1 day she might get the same treatment from others?Moreover, the victim didnt doing anything wrong to deserve this kind of treatment..Why be so heartless?

In all my working life, I haf not met some 1 like that b4, but then in this company, there are 2 beside me..how scary can tat be?

I try to be as distant as I can so that they cannot do anything to me..1 of them is still ok, at least where work is concerned, she didnt give me trouble after the 1st 2 mths..On the other hand, the other 1 continue with her little schemes..I tried my best not to be affected by her as I have more issues to deal with then to be bothered with this kind of person..

But I shudder to think what other things she is capable of coming up with after hearing today's stories...Scary issnt it?

Taipei Revisited 2011-Dan Shui Old street(淡水老街)，Shih Lin Night Market(士林夜市)

We made our way to Dan Shui Old street (淡水老街) after Mao Kong( 猫空), didn't expect what is awaiting us. Crowds! We forgot as it was a weekend, Dan Shui 淡水was packed to the max. It was nothing like when we visited in 2010. Damn, miscalculated, hubs was of course pissed at the crowd (nothing I can do) but I do love this street.

Taking pics was out of the question, couldn't enjoy walking along the streets as it was filled with people, we had hard time trying not to lose each other in the sea of people.

 We brought some snacks there for my colleagues and then decided to end our tour here, no way we are able to squeeze with the crowd here, besides hubs wanted to go to Shih Lin Night Market (士林夜市). I reckon we better go earlier so as not to be caught in the same situation as here.

Remind me not to visit here during weekend for my next trip :P.

 We reached 士林 at around 6pm. Its was crowded alright but not too bad. Went in search of food as its dinner time. Had pretty much the same food as the 1st time we visited last year. 炸鸡扒 is a must with all others as 配角 only.

After a filling dinner, we proceed to the apparels section. Brought nothing here though, more of we wanted some exercise to burn off some of the things we had eaten at the food section.Hur hur.

 We walked 1 round in the apparels section and brought nothing, hubs announced that he wanted to eat another 鸡扒 again(faints) and we proceed back to the food section. Queue was crazy by this time and we joined them.

 We stood by the road side to savour the 鸡扒 and noticed the 香肠 stall. Never ate Taiwanese sasuage (台湾香肠) before this trip as I was not a big fan of 香肠. But I feel in love with it after tasting it earlier in 猫空. Checked with hubs and found out he still have space for some 香肠 and we proceed to buy. The 香肠 that this stall sells is of extra large sizes, as we couldn't finish such a big 1, we asked to buy half of it.

Forgot the pricing of it but it is by weight, unlike street vendors where they would sell 1 for NTD 30..Its was pretty expensive as I could recall and luckily we ordered half only. The taste is nice but not OMGITSFUCKINGGOOD. Thus, its not worth the price in my opinion. You can get cheaper 1 anywhere along the streets and I assure you, it tastes just as NICE.

Its near to 10pm as we finished our food adventures in 士林夜市. Decided to call it a day as we are due to be up early for tomorrow's schedule.

Mr Love has been recall for reservist for 2 weeks and had survived the 1st wk..Although he is allowed to come hm every nitez, but we missed dinner time together as by the time he reached hm, it would be ard 8pm..Furthermore, his camp did provide dinner for every 1..

Perhaps its due to age and the lack of exercise, he gets veri worn out by the intensive training his CO gave them..And on top of it, he will have to report by 5.30 am every morning, thus he have to wake up a 4am to go bak to camp..

So its always like he reached hm, rest awhile, go wash up and hit the sack at 9pm..Dont even haf time or energy to tok to me..maybe a bit onli la, b4 he fell aslp, he would be grumbling on the bed on how hard is this ICT..whahah den he will doze off before long...

I did asked him 1 nitez why didnt he stay in camp, afterall, the travelling bak n forth from his Pasir Ris camp n our hse will tired him out even more..He then told me that he noes I am afraid of slping alone at nite, so unless neccessary, he will try to come hm every nite even its tiring..Awwww...so sweet...Who needs V-day pressie when my hubs is so sweet on normal days?whahaha...

Anyways, this V-day, hes gonna be struck in Tekong for a 2D1N outfield trip, not onli he will not be able to accompany me, he is not able to come hm tat nitez...how nice of the SAF to haf this kind of arrangement..Well, tat is nothing we can do and I think my companion for that nite will be his smelly pillow..whahha

Good old days..

As mentioned previously, we are plannin to start our hse renovations in later of the yr and thus, gotta source for contractors/ IDs now..

So, its bak to reading the forums, juz like when we were preparing for 1st overseas trip to BKK or our wedding, I did homework online intenstively..

Read every single topic in the forum, note down things I need to take note of, bookmark the more useful pages etc etc..Spend alot of nites reading thru the endless comments/stories of others..

We started our meet up sessions with the contractors today..While toking to them, I tried to learn tips fromt them so that I can ask more questions while toking to the others..

All these reminds me of the good old days before we went for our 1st trip or preparing for our wedding..we will talk about our ideas during meals, discuss our options, work out our budget...Mr Love would tell me his basic requirements, leaving the small details for me to work out..

This arrangement has always been in place for all the major happenings in our life..He will be consulted for the major decision and I can make the call for the minor decisions..In this way, conflicts can be avoided, he doesnt like to see details while I wan things my way for certain things...

Right now, we are waiting for the quotations to be ready and from there we will discuss and decide which contractor/ID to use..Meanwhile, our dating places are limited to IKEA/Courts/IFC/Havery Norman/funiture shops..

Cant wait for our hse to be ready..Finally, after 4 yrs ;)

After 5 days of dragging..

I dunno whether I caught the virus from Cindy last fri or wat, but since sat, i've been coughing and I immediately took med, hoping to curb the upcoming cough but was unsuccessful.

Not only it become a full blown flu, it aso took away my voice, making my nose like a leaking tap most importantly, I am constantly with a fever making me weak..

As it was month end, I did not want to take time off work, thus went to work despite not feeling beri good..I tot the cough will go away if i took the medicine diligently but alas, things were not meant to be..

It got so bad last nite that I cannot breath properly while slping and I can feel myself burning...Didnt slp well last nite and today finally took the day off to see doc..Doc was nt happie with my draggin, he told me if I had rested when the cough juz started, I would haf recover faster, now that the virus is out, I would need to wait for it to go off..

Thus, I was advised to drink more water to flush out the virus..Was quite weak, didnt eat anything the whole day and its bak to work tmr cuz my bank rec is still pending and we r moving on to a new mth..

I noe I am weak, with a weaker immune system than most plp..I tried taking vit C to help but as I am going to start family planning soon, I do not want to be taking other oral supplements and tat includes med...

Been beri busy with CNY preparations...Cleaning of room, getting rid of new clothes to make way for new 1, doing laundry for old and new clothes...All these took up bulk of my beri limited free time...

Anyways, continuing with the CNY hse visiting today and tmr...While on this, hubs n I decided that we will take bak our hse in mid of the yr and start renovating and then we can move on to the family planning part..whahaha

Long awaited huh? especially plp ard ARE all asking the same question ever since Aiden (Hubs' nephew) was borned..Relax...neber say dun wan give birth, but 1 ting at the time kk??

We need to be beri prepared to welcome a new member into our family kk..I dun wan juz give birth and throw the responsibility to either side parents..I wan to be able to educate my child, my way..

And yes, we finally think  we are ready, Hubs been promoted this yr, monies is there for the renovation, and the next step is to haf babies..hehhee

So, we will be beri busy recently, not for making baby, but to source for a good contractor to work within the budget to get my hse renovated..I am now reading thru those reno forum to get more ideas and have been making our rounds in funiture shops/ikea, hoping to get more ideas..nope, no ID involve..I am the ID myself..whahah

Hopefully things can be settle by Aug this yr and then we shall concentrated on our 造人计划...whhahhah wish me luck peeps...

Plp always comment tat women be it 8-80yrs old are all vain, I couldnt agree more..

Juz recently, mummy said she was talked into going for a facial and how she was hafin second tots becuz she is not sure whether it would be painful or not..Most importantly, she dunno the cost of the facial..The beautician told her that they would onli be able to tell her the price when she choose the package when she goes there..

In summary, she is not confident of rejecting them if it turns out to be too expensive for her..So I told her to call them and anyhow give an excuse to cancel the appointment..

While chatting 1 day,she told me she is toying with the idea of using SK II products since she keep hearing good feedback on their products and of cuz no thanks to their strong marketing on tv...

Moreover, we will be going to HK in March, I reckon we shd be able to buy them cheaper there as taxes in HK are lower...Thus, I went and sourced the starter pack for her which were mostly out of stock here..On top of it, I aso brought her the eye cream which I hope can improve the condition of her skin ard the eye area, she have been pretty bothered by it..

After few days of trying, she told me it was still okie..The essence realli make her face feel more hydrated and can feel the skin tighten..As for the eye cream, I guess it will take prolonged usage b4 being able to see the results..

I'm sure she will buy alot when we go HK since she gave positive feedbak..I am itching to try them out myself though I still have my Koream products with me..But no hurry la..I've been always using skin care from my early twenties years, while mummy onli started seriously now, so its natural that she shd use a better product...

金马奖影帝。。

Mr Love had got a new colleague recently, joining his co for juz more den a mth and they grew quite close, cuz all the other colleagues except for his manager are female..So, I can understand his excitment when this guy joined them..

But slowly, I found this guy's action to be quite weird..He would call Mr Love after work to juz "chat" but usually is him telling Mr Love about his family woes..

Which are still fine until I realise he got a wife who he's gonna divorced soon (or so he claims) who bore him a boi who have heart problems (or so he claims too).. Besides them, currently, he've got a Viet "wife"(they held their customary in Viet) but cannot register their marriage here who is preggies with his child too...Seriously, when I hear this, I have given him 100% discount oredi, which essentially means I DUN LIKE him..

The turning point came when he started to borrow monies from Mr Love, giving various reasons..And the amount got bigger each time..The good ting is, Mr Love did spoke to me on this and after the 1st time he loaned him, I put my foot down to avoid the 2nd time, telling Mr Love tat he would nt get his monies bak if loaned to this kind of creep..

The 1st time when he approach Mr Love, he told him tat he need to top up the petrol for his car and my dear hubby loaned him the cash!!I nearly flipped..I mean, if u are so damn poor, take the public transport la!! Futhermore, the company provide transport at various MRT, no monies still wanna act rich n drive a car around...*PUI, hao lian !!!*

And he promised to return it after his pay day but when the pay came, guess wat? He gave a lame reason saying that GIRO had deducted all his monies inside and he cannot afford to repay bak..WTF???U think I bodoh izzit? Giro is usually use for ur hse utilities(which he dun need to pay since he stayed with his parents), ur hp bills,insurance..Granted he need to pay all these, surely it would not amount so much till your whole pay is wipe out rite? You gonna eat shit for the rest of the mth izzit???

The 2nd time, he got bolder and asked for 500bucks..I told Mr Love, even its rupiah he is asking, he cannot loan him..I mean where got plp start to borrow monies from colleagues who he had known less than a mth, n which fool will lend 500bucks to plp who they know less than a mth?His reason  this time? He need to give his "Ex-wife" the monies or he risks not able to see his precious son...He claims tat his "ex-wife" is a blood sucker.. My problem izzit?Siao, wanna have 2 families, go sort out the problem urself la, dun take my hubby as a fool, the thing is my hubby married a shrewd woman..This time, Mr Love turned him down..

Den suddenly, he got beri friendly wif us, asking my hubby to bring me along to eat buffet during New Year's Eve..I flatly rejected and ask Mr Love, if he is so poor, how is that he can afford to go n haf buffet and on top of it, bringing his Viet Wife along..Is either he is acting poor, or we haf to foot their bill..Either way, I am not willing to dine with them, I am nt willing to dine with a creep..

So in the end, we settle on going to the JE swimming complex on a sun morning..I went along as I wanted to assess him..True enuff, he looks like a creep and haf those dishonest look..Maybe is becuz I do not haf good impression of him frm all the things Mr Love told him but still he didnt give me an good impression at all...He didnt even bother to hold on to his wife as we walked in the swimming pool which haf super slippery floor, how nice/caring is him?In contrast, my hubby held on to my hand tightly as he is afraid that I might slip n fall there..

Tat very night, he asked for a loan of 200bucks again. This time, simply saying he is poor..
I realli feel like slappin him..He smokes and gotta pay 11bucks to smoke everyday. He drives and pay ard 150bucks for petrol every week..He can jio us go swimming which needs 2 bucks entrance fee..He can even ask us go buffet which will easily set him bak by 100bucks..yet he says he is poor..FUCK U!!!you are onli borrowing to substain your lifestyle idiot, not because u r oh so poor..n u think my hubs is an easy target for borrowing monies since he is so soft spoken...

And the realised juz ny telling reasons cannot work, he made an act in front of Mr Love juz the other day...He went to Mr Love's room and asked to borrow his hp so tat he can call M1 to check wat's wrong wif his hp which were terminated..then he came up with a sob story tat he is afraid that his wife is not able to reach him when his hp is terminated and asked Mr Love to help to pay his hp bill...And my ever so kind (or shd I say naive) hubby helped to him pay 100bucks to restore his hp line!!!ROAAARRRR...When he relates to me tat night I nearly swallow him down..

I simply think this guy is juz acting..Why would he need to borrow Mr Love's hp to call M1?He could have juz used the company phone and moreover, he is sitting at a corner, no 1 will be able to hear his conversation as the rests sits in the room...On the reason on his wife cannot reach him, it is even more lame, they are all finance staff and would be in the office the whole day, the wife can call his direct line, couldnt she? Home is about 45min away onli, even theres an emergency, his parents are ard to help her, wat is the life & death matter that they muz tell him on a hp?? My conclusion is, he is juz putting on an act so tat Mr Love can take pity on him and loan him more monies..

Furthermore, Mr Love said, he had oredi started his sob story on he dunno how to afford to pay his wife's medical chrgs when she delivers in March as she is a foreigner and they are not related in the eyes of law here..I told Mr Love tat this is his problem and he shd sort out on his own..I mean, you wan to slp ard and got plp preggies and you jolly well can take up the responsibility..My hub's responsibility is to look after me and his family,not to take pity on you this kind of creep...

Hopefully, Mr Love had learnt his lesson well this time and not continued to believe or take pity on him..On that loan amount, I reckon we shall write it off as bad debt..Dun let me haf a chance to see him during Mr Love's company functions...ROOOOAAAARRRRRR

头痛到醒。。

I used to suffer from headache pretty frequently when I was in sch but never I had this experience of wakin up because of headache..

But last nite, I was jolted awake by a sharp pain in my head and felt nauseous..It was a terrible feeling..I didnt want to take panadol and try to fall aslp bak to no avail.

I gave up after awhile and went to take 1 panadol hoping that it will take away the pain and allow me to catch up on some slp b4 going to work..

The panadol did ease the pain but not all, I woke up to the headache again this morning when my alarm goes off but not as painful as the 1st time.

I managed to drag myself to work as there are back logs waiting for me to clear, tried my best to stay awake the whole day..

Not sure wat is happening, hopefully it will go away after tonite's rest..

活到老，学到老。。

Been busy recently with work, home and family thus explaining the lack of posts..But then again, in summary, I am plain lazy..whahha

Mummy had finally get her arse moving and went to enrol for a 2days PC course..I've been naggin at her, telling her that she will get detached from our Singapore society if she cannot use the PC or surf net for the matter...

After numerous teasing/nagging/cajolling, 1 fine day, she finally went to sign up for the course..

She is atttending the course this weekend and was abit nervous bout the course cuz the last time she stepped into the classroom was 40yrs ago..Kept asking me on wat to bring and wat to expect in class..whahha

She called me yest at lunch break and told me it was beri difficult and her lecturer was pretty fierce..whahha And it did not help tat she is the onli person out of a class of 20 that who didnt have the slighest idea on how to even on the PC..whahah She said every 1 else had abit of basic knowledge..whahah ..The worse thing is, the course is conducted in English..

So, I told her to juz concentrate and absorb watever she can in class, anything she dun understand, I can give her extra lessons..

So true to my promise, I brought over my old lappie which I intend to give to her to practice on last night and went thru a crash course with her on how to use the internet and email..Gave her instructions in English but wrote the chinese translation beside them..

I roughly went thru her notes and thus noe what the lecturer is gonna teach her today, so in order to let her be more confident in class, I prepare her for it 1st.heheh

Mr Love was asking me why dun I teach her in the 1st place, why send her to class? The reason is simple, she would not have paid so much attention to me if I were her teacher and will not find time to sit there for hours to let me explain to her..

But going on course, which she paid by herself, she would be more attentive in class, moreover, I am not those professional lecturers who have a guide book to teach the beginners..

After yest class, she knew what is a desktop, the icons, how to operate a mouse, how to use words, how to do simple configuration on our PC..Tat is pretty good for her and is something which I will not teach..I will at most teach her how to surf the net, which is my sole purpose to want her to stay connected via the internet..But this course is more comprehensive in terms of strcuture where they will introduce the basics of a PC to the students..

I promise her that if the lecturer is still picking on her today, I will go n give her a piece of my mind when I go fetch her after her class later..heheh..But as per her report during lunch, all is quite good today perhaps due to the crash course I have given her last nite..

Well, its heartening to see my mum trying her best to improve herself and I noe this will keep her occupy for a long time, lets hope that 1 day she will be smart enuff to find this blog of mine..hehehehe...

House Chores duties..

I have relinquish my laundry duties and pass them to Mr Love long time ago leaving onli folding and ironing of clothes in the whole cycle of laundry..
My cheeky husband wanted to try his luck last nite and thus when he notice I was dozing off on the bed, we had the following conversation :

Mr Love: “老婆，去洗衣了”
Me: ：“Huh, 不要啦，我很累了，没力气这折衣服了啦。。”
Mr Love: “老婆，你听好，我是叫你洗衣，不是折而已。。”
Me (Awaken by then): “你讲多一次？”
Mr Love: “我明天才洗。。。”

Hehehe He tot I would not be alert to take note of what he is toking..whhaha But I'm well trained de leh, cuz he always try to smoke me while I am dozing off..

But seems like he is well trained too..hehehe

World class transport system...

I used to proudly tell my relatives in Msia, we Singapore have a world class transport system..Unlike them, I dun need to haf a car to get ard here..Our buses and trains system are well connected to every part of Singapore and is pretty efficient..

However, recently, if you asked me to make this statement again, I would not be able to bring myself to do that..

Why is it so? In a span of 1 5days, our train systems which most plp rely on failed us 3 times..And on top of it, twice are on peak hours leaving plp stranded in the stations, creating jams on the road, chaos in the station...

I have fwens who posted online tat a 30min journey turned into a 3hr 1, plp in taxi nearly got a heart attacked from watching the meter jumped while being struck in the traffic jam on the expressway, some couldnt even get a cab despite willing to pay the extra charges of booking 1...

I was lucky to escape unscathed on all 3 occasions, becuz of the area I was staying was unaffected..but it does makes me wonder when would it affect the line I usually take? After all, I rely on the train to get to town before goin to office, without the train service, it is virtually impossible to get to my office by bus as there are no direct bus from my area to my work area...

Despite mounting public anger the same stretch tat was affected on thursday evening was down again this morning..I onli realised when i saw my FB...Many of my fwens were complaining..And I was slping..whahaha...

Did SMRT realli learnt their lesson? I dun think so...An apology, and full refund of the fares is not wat we need..Who needs ur apology? We want answers...Full refund? If it was me, I would even bother..80 or 90 cents and I have to go queue up and fill in some bloody forms and the whole process will waste my precious 20mins? Juz by thinking of it, I would rather treat it donation to u SMRT. Towards the pay of your useless CEO..

If SMRT is truly apologetic, they should have waived the mrt fares on all their lines for 2days, dun think it juz affect those who took the trains on the affected times..How about those who waited for those affected? How about those who found out in time about the disruption and avoid going to the stations? It affects the whole Singapore, not juz the few thousand who were present there during the breakdown..You are not looking at the big picture SMRT, and we are no fools either...

Our dear transport minister issued a statement saying something like he is concerned about the well being of the commuters blah blah blah and will look into this issue blah blah blah again..End of the findings? Fine SMRT and close case? Where does the monies goes?Government.Wat do the commuters get? Price hike due to the "rising operational cost"..Does it solve the problems? You bet it DOES NOT!

Why couldnt the LTA force them to decrease the price if the service is not up to the standard and they are not doing enough to maintain the system? The price hike in Oct 11 obviously is not justified when the service is disrupted thrice in 1 wk..LTA acts fast when SMRT raised their concerns over increasing operational costs and thus asking for hike but turned to a deaf ear over the commuters complaints on the inefficiency of the train/bus services...

This is totally unacceptable..And to apologised everytime an outrage occurred is useless..If no plans are made to keep the systems well maintained, tell me where did all the monies go? To the P&L and can be declared as dividends at year end issit? SMRT do not deserve to have a profit in their books with this kind of service!!! The onli reason they can is becuz they are well protected by the Singapore goverment and monopolized our transport system, leaving us with no choice but to take and endure the poor service they provided..

Juz take a trip to HK or Taiwan or even Bangkok, you will find a more cheaper, sophisticated subway system in place not to mentioned cheaper and more efficient..Our Singapore 1 pales in comparisions to them..

Excuse me why I go hide myself in shame for once declaring our transport system to be world class...

I love Singapore but not our government...

Seriously, I do love this little red dot I am living in, even though been complaining about it endlessly..But hey, the fact that I complained is becuz I cared kk...I would have heck care if I dun give a damn about my own country..

But come to think of it, does our government cares whether we love our country or not? I seriously do not think so..Personally, I feel that our gov is obsessed with trying to clinch the No. 1 position in many of the world class findings rather than to concentrate on making life better for their citizens..I guess in their heart, they oredi made our life better as compared to 40+yrs ago when Singapore was juz founded..

No doubt we are indeed leading a much better life now, but hey, you cannot juz stop there n let us decline while you try to compete with the other big ass countries for the No.1 position rite??

You wanna make our country more competitive and hence opent the floodgate to foreigners reducing our wages in the process..Then on the other hand, inflation goes up..How is it that our life is gonna gets better with this?

You may attract foreign companies to invest and set up branches here, but at the end of the day, the bulk of the employees in these companies are not true-blue Singaporeans! They will be the cheaper FT..So you are juz providing the oredi limted space for them to come set up company and employ their own plp...Why do this?Why waste our land?

I used to be a loyal supporter of our government b4 this election..Books in sch taught me how the MIW make Singapore a better place to live in, how we progressed ahead of the other countries despite hafin a late start..I was convinced back then we had the best government in the world though there were complaints of being autocratic instead of like wat our pledge say "To bulit a democratic society", the high pay of our office holders were justified bak then to me as there will doing a good job, but these days, I feel its juz a waste of the taxpayers monies...

Had the quality of the office holders dropped as compared to the older generation or had the expectations of the younger generations grew higher as compared to our older generation? I dunno, it maybe both...

The policies that our government had in place were sort of secretive to us commoners, with us finding out when its too late (Floodgate incident), finding out by word of mouth (PRC telling me my gov sponsored their studies here), finding out in time but with no say (they went ahead with building extension line to JB where they cannot even managed the SG line properly)..

With all these disappointments, 1 cannot blame us for turning our backs to the gov and instead start to show support for the other parties..They, in turn are able to point out and relate to the everyday problem we faced instead of telling us to stop whinning and accept the fact..

If the gov cannot even bother to listen to their citizens and want us to listen to them onli, then I think its time for us to get some voices to go tell them to wake up their idea..

When the time comes, I hope it will realli be like wat is said in our pledge that I used to recite every day when in school "So as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our Nation...

Xmas songs..

After dinner at T3, we walked ard abit and came across some old uncles performing xmas songs for a crowd..

Stop by and listening to their singing..No doubt they were old, but their singing are realli good and they brought out the joyful spirit of Xmas..

Stood there to njoy their singing while basking in the spirit, for a moment I tot Xmas is here oredi...whahah

So happie to come across this little performance today, ends my day with a happie note..Merry xmas, hohoho

A letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

Its the time of the year again!!!The time tat I will eagerly await for you to come and present me with my gift, though you have let me down for the past 26yrs..

This year, without failed, I am gonna wish upon a gift, who noes? You will bring the gift afterall..

I self professed to be quite a good gal this yr, going thru some up n down in the process but emerged stronger..

I have oredi used up my credits with my in-house Santa (Mr Love) so I am counting on you Santa...

Dun ask me, I dunno, but seriously we do haf a lot to tok about, though it takes quite a long while for him open up to me...

But cuz I am the MORE talkative half, I always haf something to tok about at any time of the day given I am in the mood..heheh

Learnt this from a china TV serial I watched recently..Researched on the meaning and found it to be quite encouraging..

Many a times, in our life, we bound to met with obstacles..If we are not able to cross them, we can try to take a step bak, whu noes, there might be another way out.. In short, it's saying is there is nothing tat cannot be overcome..

True, there were many instances I got frustrated with the situation with no solution and got despair..But sometimes, if I took a step bak to ponder, and to leave things as it is, I would suddenly got the solution or a new insight to the problems..

Tat being said, its not a easy thing to do when you met with problems, your mind muz be clear and calm enuff to take a step bak, and I muz confessed I do not have this ability most of the time...

Looking forward to the new yr, I hope I will be granted more wisdom to face and overcome watever obstacles tat are thrown to me..Even I am not able to solve them, I hope to haf the wisdom to carry out this phase and lead a happier life..Tat, would be my new year resolution...

李式笑话- Dating or Married

The other day, after Mr Love had finished parking the car, as we were getting down, I saw the guy opposite us opening the door for his female passenger to get in before going back to his seat to start the car..

And I refuse to budge from my seat, insisting Mr Love aso do the same for me as he had neber done it before..

His reply is "Tat 1 is initial stages of DATING, we are Married, no need la"

Hot star has landed on our shores..

1 of the reasons why we like goin Taipei is becuz we r so in love with the Hot Star fried chickie from Shihlin Night Marekt..

Read in 8days weeks ago tat they are gonna open a stall in SG and decided we shd go try (No need to fly to Taipei every yr to eat it..heheh)

And so, we made our way to City Square Mall which is pretty out of the way for us but we were determined to go try..heheh

Well, the wait there was quite long, maybe 10min as they onli start to deep fry the chickie after we ordered to ensure the tastiness..

Unlike the stall in Shihlin, which have unlimited stream of customers, we did not have it here, thus explaining the slow service..If u have been to the Taipeu branch, they are able to serve it hot and fast as they can prepare alot due to the fact that there would be plp queuin up to buy the whole night..Maybe they will slow down as it gets later la, but while I was there till 10pm, the queue is still as crazy as it was when I reached at 6pm..

The taste is the same as there as I read in tat article tat the boss personally went to Taipei to learn the ropes so as to ensure the standards...They aso offered other items like fries and mushrooms which is non existent in the Taipei stall...I did not try them though, might do so the next time..

But as agreed by Mr Love, althought the taste is the same, the feeling is not though. Perhaps our minds have been preset by the ambience in Shihlin, juz dun feel the kick while eating here..

Nevertheless, its a good alternative to curb our cravings..hehehe
