Korea Late Winter Sonata 2015-Busan - Gwangalli Beach (广安里海水浴场)

The last place of interest for Busan leg is Gwangalli beach where I planned to bring Mr Love for fried chicken in one of the restaurant recommended by the guide book. It was said that the restaurant is along the beach so we can admired the night scenery as we dine.

Directions to the beach:

1). Take Busan line 2
 2). Take Exit 3 or 5
3). Walk straight for 300m or so and you can see the beach.

Gwangalli Beach seems to be more popular than Haeundae Beach it seems. There seems to be more activity going on here with a line of restaurants lining up the street across the beach. But then again, we did really explore Haeundae beach.

We took exit 5
We realised that Korea is developing fast and I mean really fast. The guide book I had was the 14-15 version and yet some of the restaurants featured inside were either closed or moved. Didn't have the same problem with Taiwan.

Amyways, the fried chicken joint we wanted to go facing the beach was gone. Which means that we have to re-decided what to eat now. Nearly all the restaurants here are drinking joints which is not a surprise but we didn't want any drinks. We need dinner.

Street across the beach
Walked up & down the street twice and couldn't find a suitable restaurant to dine in. Was a bit upset since I wanted to enjoy the night view of the beach while dining.

End up, we walked back to the perpendicular street to 1 of the fried chicken shop we saw earlier -BBQ Chicken. Was not really interested to eat this as it is available in Singapore too. But what choices do we have?

Tongs for the chicken
The thing about ordering fried chicken in Korea is they served the whole chicken. There is no 2 or 3 pieces meal here. We ordered one original chicken and sat down to devour it.

The culture here is to eat fried chicken with beer and nearly every table has a jug of beer except for us. Not exactly fond of beer and Mr Love is totally against drinking. Nothing much to rave about for the chicken here but I am glad we managed to find dinner since are both hungry and cold already.

Fried chicken
Walked back towards the beach to see the lighted up Gwangalli bridge and was in awe of it. The night view here was really splendid! How nice it was if the restaurant that I initially wanted to visit is still open for business.
Street vendor
The lighted bridge was really nice and the surrounding buildings are also brightly lighted making Gwangalli beach looked bright even though nightfall is here.

Lighted bridge and the buildings
We went into the beach and the sand was soft and sandy, nothing like ours in Singapore. There were a  lot of couples and groups here chatting the night away. But we were simply too cold to continue walking on the beach. So we took some photos here and then end the night tour here.

Initially wanted to check out the bright buildings near the bridge but I reckon it's only shopping center or some commercial centers which I am not in the mood to do shopping.

Super small dustbin

Hopefully when we visit Gwangalli next time we will be able to find a suitable restaurant by the beach and sit down to enjoy the night view while we have our dinner :)
