Chinese New Year Day 14

It has been a busy Chinese New Year this year, all those visiting, eating, gathering, catching up. So much so that I haven found time to visit my newly born god son..Bleah...

Anyways, yest was our ex STE kakis annual gathering, it was the smallest of all year this time, with Chris calling in sick (dun wanna to spread to the kids), Xiong last min pull out with no reason (hmmmffff) and Shu Shu's lack of interest to attend due to a misunderstanding. Its is down to Jie Jie and me to go down to Didi's hse..

Was not happie with the attendance at all, especially didi & Aud woke up at 6.30am to do marketing, cracking their heads over what to buy, its a let down to the hosts, not to mentioned rude by pulling out at the eleventh hour.

Nevertheless, we went ahead with the plans, not wanting to spoil the mood. Arrived at 4pm since Didi asked me to babysit his son so that he & Aud can rest abit. Jie Jie aso reached early as she have to leave at 6.30pm for a 2nd round.

Man, my nephew is cute to the max!!! At 5 months, he can goo goo ahh ahh when I talked to him, many a times, he would rest his head on my breasts as in wanting milk(haha), or when I carried him in a upright position, he would place his hands on my breasts and pinching/squeezing it abit..

His mum was horrified by his actions, whahah saying that he took after his father..

In contrast of the scary stories I heard bout him being grumpy, he was a gem throughout my whole visit. He dun mind we taking turns to carrying him, looking at us intently with his big round eyes as we tok, making noise occasionally when he wanted attention. Even fell aslp twice as he was tired from waking up early.

We had our little hot pot gathering in peace as he was sleeping half the time or sitting with us quietly as we chatted over dinner.

Due to the absence of the guys, there were quite a lot of food left, doesnt help that Jie Jie is a small eater, luckily, Didi had a guy fwen over who helped to clear quite a bit of the food but still I heard, there was half left in the fridge. Even I was paiseh as I had initiated this gathering but the attendance was disappointing.

I stayed on to help pull the little guy to sleep while didi chat with his fwen. Had a long chat with Aud on my miscariage, her miscarriages, challenges to adapt to motherhood and of cuz complaints about our hubs.It was as goood 2hrs chat, hoped that I helped to clear some of her issues too. Its never easy to be a wife, mother and daughter in law at the same time but I think she did a good job.

Went home ard 10pm when Mr Love picked me up after his gathering at Boon's place. Was tired and aching all over from carrying the little 1 for prolonged hours. Till the next time then. I oredi miss my little nephew. hee.
