爱，一直都在。。

I have a distant relative who is in her mid-70s..Who I saw once in the blue blue moon, but sometimes will hear about her household matters from mummy..This is the bad side of a large family, news travel fast and far..

Not long ago, her hubs was diagmosed with dementia and was admitted to hospital. I heard that she refuse to visit him as he was unfaithful to her during recent years and when she finally did, she went and complained to the doc of her hubs' misdoings..whahah..When he was discharged, as there was no 1 to look after him, he was placed in a nursing home..

That is not the point, heheh the main point is, when mummy and I visited her the other day, she was listing out his misdeeds over the years and how much she suffered over the years..But the funnie thing is, after a while, while chatting, she went and bring in the clothes. There were 2 Polo t-shirts, and she told us that some neighbours gave it to her, and she found it to be in good condition and she decided to wash it clean and bring to him in the nursing home...

Well, it may be a small gesture to some, but it strikes me there and then and perhaps she felt more for him more than she ever know. Despite all the suffering she went thru, you can feel her feelings for him during our conversation. I dunno whether can you classfied as love but certainly not hate..

She told us even though she didnt leave any thing for her hubs, she did instruct her children that they must provide for their dad with her monies..Can dun give him cash, but at least must make sure he had a roof over his head and food to eat..Whether the children will do or not, I dunno, but at least from here, you can sense that she is still veri worried for his well being when she passed on. After all, all his monies had been squandered away long ago..

From this incident, it suddenly dawn on me this relative of mine, no matter how angry/fierce she may seems on the surface, does have a little love left for her hubs .It didnt went away over the years, it didnt went away when he betrayed her, it didnt went away even though he cannot recognise her now, it certainly will not go away even when she passed on in future. This is not 刻苦民心的爱情  but instead it showed me the older generation's take on LOVE，一日夫妻百日恩。。。

There maybe no love left, but family ties are still there...
