Anyways, I did not wait for New Year to start wearing the shoes, intead wore it on Xmas & Boxing day. * Bleah*
After the closure of No Concept shoes in Taiwan, I couldn't find any lasting comfortable flats. I tried getting some from Pretty fit but since it is make of cloth, it wears out pretty fast. The worse is that the design is discontinued and I am not able to get any more. I think I brought 5 pairs over a few months and since had outworn all.
Ok, to be fair No Concept is still retailing in Singapore. But the price is really rocket high and had been climbing too steadily ever since I start to buy in 2009.

Then came along Melissa shoes which I stumbled across while FB surfing 1 fine day. It is also known as jelly shoes and is made of plastic(I think). Which makes it a good material for Decemeber in Singapore where it rain every other day.
This is a brand from Brazil and it is only available in Tangs, Robinson and another sole distributor in Wheelock place. Not sure whether it is due to import taxes or what, but the retail price here is also damn crazy.
Suddenly a "gift" dropped from nowhere when I realised some one is selling via FB at a much cheaper price. Not really dirt cheap but it is definitely more reasonable than the prices in the departmental stores. And since they are buying from overseas website( I guessed) they bring in more designs (yay).
So the Ah Soh me went to Tangs to try out my shoe size 1st and 1 fine day in November, the seller suddenly announced that there is a year end sale for shoes size 8 & above. Hahah It is fated I should purchase from them after comtemplating for 1 month since my shoe size is the humongous US9.
The shoes are priced at around SGD 80-90 for flats which is around lower than No Concept shoes but the advantage is it is waterproof which is pretty essential now. So I took the plunged and brought 2 pairs at 1 go.
The ETA was in mid Dec but was delayed till near Xmas. Waited anxiously for the shoes to arrive since all other flats I had are threatening to give way anytime soon should I walked in the rain again. Damn the ponding. Imagine my joy when I received the flats and couldn't wait to try them on.
The shoes are all coated with a bubblegum smell which makes it sweet smelling (not that I will smell my shoes). But I am not sure how long can the smell last. But the shoes are really comfortable. Really. Since it is make of some special plastic and waterproof, I can wash it if I happen to walk in water puddles. On top of it, they are very light weighted and doesn't gives me blisters like some other brand I know (C&K).

So, I enlisted Bestie's help to get the shoes delivered to her house and she will help bring back to me when she comes back for CNY. Double yay for me. But quite paiseh cause need trouble her.
Wanted to buy their heels too since the prices are cheaper even in pounds but decided not to as it would be too heavy for bestie and hubs keep saying the heels are too tall and insist I stick to flats. So I went crazy and got 3 pairs which is not even SGD 200 including shipping charges from the seller.
Now, I wished I am a caterpillar than can parade the shoes once and for all when I get them in CNY. Haha but too bad I am not. So it's 1 at a time I guess.
A big thank you to bestie who agreed to help me bring back the shoes. Hope it doesn't cause you too much trouble. Looking forward to see you, my god son and my shoes in Feb'14. Haha
