Taipei 2010 Day 3-Part 2- Taipei 101

To get to Taipei 101, we dropped off at City Hall station(市政府站), which is 1 station away from Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall station. I read somewhere that there is a free shuttle bus from City Hall Station to Taipei 101 but the it didn't stated where to take the shuttle bus.

Next Stop- City hall station
And so I thought there will be a sign upon exit to show us where to board the shuttle bus but after walking quite a distance, we didn't see any signs to direct us to board the bus. So I tried asking around the bus station but it seems like no on knew.

So we decided to walk outside of the building. And then I saw a life saver!! A sign that points to the direction of Taipei 101!! So happie can?? We followed the sign and started walking towards Taipei 101. As the tower is tall, we are able to see it from far and we keep walking towards it. But then, it look damn far can?

The Sign tat stop half way
As we walked, the skies gets more and more grey by the min. On top of it, the stupid sign suddenly stopped and we lost the directions to Taipei 101. The only thing to do is to follow the building in sight and keep walking . The worst happen just as we are 10 mins away from the building. Suddenly, it start to rain heavily, is not gradually kind. Is those sudden downpour type. Damn, there was no shelter in sight, only a long pavement ahead of us leading to Taipei 101.

See the dark dark skies
As we ran in the rain, I struggled to find my umbrella within my bag. Mr Love did even better, didn't bring umbrella. So we 2 squeezed into the small umbrella of mine and walked as fast as we can. We are considered lucky as there are a lot of people around us caught off guard and did not have an umbrella with them and thus need walk/run in the heavy rain.

We reached Taipei 101 and started to walk around, the shops here are those upscale shops and thus we did not shop here. Mr Love took a look at the Tag watches which he always joked he wanted to buy, and got freaked out by the price tag. I think is 10k SGD...whahaha

We then went in search of the lift to the top observatory floor and saw a queue forming .Quite put off by the high price they charged 40bucks for 1 pax. Therefore decide to give it a miss. Instead, we camwhore outside the lift area and went to the gift shop. Nothing to buy there also.

Me with Taipei 101
I decided to leave here as there is nothing much for us to do. I noticed the sign to the free shuttle bus to the MRT station and joined the queue there. Turns out that the bus is right beside the MRT station, just have to turn right when we exit from the concourse area, but we turned left. Damn.

The free bus
Next stop will be Zhong Xiao Fu Xing station(忠孝复兴), where we are going to SOGO and to search for my No concept shoes which I totally have no idea where the shop is located. I only have on hand a hand drawn map copied down from there website.
