Intersection at Taipei |
It is pretty difficult to see money changer in Taipei unlike in HK, you will see 1 at every shopping center. We went to search for the money changer as we wait for the rain to stop. The funny thing about Taipei's money changer is, they only accept USD, Euro, GBP, Yen & RMB. All other currencies had to be exchanged at the bank which opens only 5 days from 8am to 3pm. Win already lo..I thought SGD is quite well accepted in Asia but then to my dismay I am not able to exchange. Well, gotta stick to our plan of buying a new luggage.
We continued our search for the super mart after the rain, it was quite difficult to spot but luckily the map was pretty well drawn and given my sharp eyes, we manage to find it without much difficulties.
Taipei Supermarket |
It is just like Carrefour except all in Chinese and perhaps the goods are local not imported. We checked the luggage section but the luggage there is quite expensive as compared to SG, given the same model. After discussion, we decided against buying there as we didn't think it is worth it.
Know what idea we came up with? We brought masking tape instead and we intended to tape our luggage up after we had packed our things. And should the immigration wants to check, we will tear away the tapes and re tape it once checking is done. Thinking this is a feasible idea, we decided to go with it.
After that, we tried to navigate our way back to Zhong Xiao Fu Xing MRT station and made our way to Wu Fen Pu Wholesale market(五分埔). Took the train to Hou Shan Pi(后山埤) and tried to walk there from the station.
